There’s a growing belief that Microsoft will unveil a new Halo game this week, and that it’ll be confirmed for a PS5 release.
And by ‘this week’, we mean as early as tomorrow — Friday the 24th October. That’s because this year’s Halo World Championship — the series’ official esports event — takes place over the weekend.
Halo Studios itself has previously stated that it’ll have something to share during the show. Many fans believe that the developer is referring to the rumoured remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, which, according to reports from earlier this month, has been in the works for Sony’s console.
In fact, this latest report is built upon the one we just mentioned. The source is the same: Halo “insider” Rebs Gaming, who’s backing the community-led grunt.api. It’s the latter who’s claiming that the remake will also target PS5 from the drop.
Basically, this is Rebs Gaming doubling down on what’s come before. The good news is that we won’t have to wait long to see whether the information is accurate.
Again, though, everything seems to be lining up rather nicely. The Halo World Championship would certainly provide the kind of venue that such a huge announcement deserves.
