Resident Evil Requiem is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Just when you think fans have discovered everything there is, then someone turns around and finds something else that will blow your mind. Case in point: the FBI sending Grace to Wrenwood alone wasn’t some oversight, it was all part of the plan all along.
In lighter fare, someone discovered that BSAA’s in-game computer was playing host to a website called NEWDAWN-capcom.com. At the time, it seemed like a cool Easter Egg and perhaps a hint at a future Capcom game in development, as if there weren’t enough hints already inside Requiem.
Unfortunately, the website didn’t lead anywhere, making it simply in-game fodder. However, that opened the lane for someone to go and claim the site, which they did.

The Final Puzzle In Resident Evil Requiem Is A Video Game Mystery Well Worth Savouring
Players have finally gotten to the bottom of Resident Evil Requiem’s Final Puzzle.
Now, they’re the owners of NEWDAWN-capcom.com, and the story is absolutely hilarious.
As first spotted by IGN, Gabe Follower is now the proud owner of NEWDAWN-capcom.com. The very popular social media figure dedicated to following Valve’s Gabe Newell has turned the site into a Valve-themed site for his contact info and social links.
“I really like RE games and was scrolling through the news after finishing Requiem,” Gabe Follower told IGN in an interview. “Saw someone talking about this domain and decided to check it. I was genuinely surprised no one registered it, so I’ve spent $15 bucks just for fun.”
Indeed, the website is just chat. There are links to YouTube, Twitter, Bluesky, an email form and even an About Me section. It is essentially everything you wouldn’t expect for an in-game website to be.
Per IGN, Capcom has not gotten in touch with Gabe Follower, but should they reach out, and presumably only if they reach out, then “I will give it ‘back’ for free,” they told the outlet.
It’s not unheard of for companies to eventually take back a website. Recently, a Grand Theft Auto fan shared the tale of what happened after they registered a spoof GTA 6 website and the lengths a middleman went to secure it.

Punching giant rocks in volcanoes is par for the course in Capcom’s survival horror franchise.
