Resident Evil Requiem hasn’t launched yet, but already, leaks are starting to emerge about the sequel, Resident Evil 10.
According to reputable leaker Dusk Golem (i.e. AestheticGamer), who was the first to break Leon Kennedy’s return, Capcom aims to launch the sequel by 2029 at the earliest, in just three years.
“The ‘gap’ between RE9 & RE’10’ (though likely won’t be called that) is a bit shorter than usual (presuming RE10 doesn’t get delayed too, it’s right now aiming for a 2029 release date, but could be delayed to 2030, 2031 at worst, up to the whims of game dev), & DLC for RE9 has had time to cook,” he explained on X.
Requiem Was Reportedly Planned To Launch In 2025
The reason for the shorter gap between games this time around, Dusk Golem claimed, is because Requiem was originally intended to release in 2025, with the DLC to follow in 2026, bridging the gap between RE9 and the rumoured Code Veronica and Resident Evil 0 remakes. However, due to internal delays, Resident Evil Requiem and 10 are now much closer together.
“RE9 got delayed in dev a few times,” Dusk Golem said. “Apocalypse was aiming for 2023, then Requiem was aiming for 2025, delayed to 2026.”
There have been murmurs of a Resident Evil 5 remake thanks to an ESRB rating, possibly throwing a spanner on Dusk Golem’s leaks, but the rating isn’t new, and it’s not just for RE5.
“RE5, Revelations 1, & Revelations 2 got strange new ESRB ratings last year, almost a year ago now,” he said. “These have not manifested into anything yet.”
It’s possible they’re tied to an anniversary, as Resident Evil 7 also got a new rating around the same time, but it doesn’t appear to be linked to any upcoming remakes.
Dusk Golem has been spot on thus far about Capcom’s dev timeline, so if everything pans out, it looks like we have Code Veronica and 0 remakes to look forward to next, with RE10 right around the corner after that.
