There’s been a bit of buzz surrounding Ubisoft’s remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time lately, and it refuses to go away.
The game has been in development for many years, and we’ve seen very little of it since its ropey debut back in 2020.
Back in December of last year, Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson claimed the Sands of Time remake is planned for launch in mid-January 2026, later settling on the 16th. This statement led to speculation about the game reappearing at The Game Awards, which didn’t materialise.
Now, eagle-eyed fans of the series have discovered further evidence that a release for the game is imminent, and it’s all to do with the official Prince of Persia website:
Apparently, a lot of new files have been uploaded in the last couple of weeks, the theory being that Ubisoft is making preparations for the game’s launch.
More recently, those keeping tabs on this have discovered a file literally named “game-release-tomorrow.png”, obviously suggesting the Sands of Time remake is, well, releasing “tomorrow”:
