If you thought 2024 was a standout year for video games, then watched as 2025 took its lunch money and then some, well, let’s just say 2026 is ready to assert itself as the biggest year in video games … yet.
Between the likes of Resident Evil Requiem, 007 First Light, Lego Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight, Wolverine and Crimson Desert, things are about to get hectic really quickly. That’s not even counting unannounced titles, the smattering of Indies that take the world by storm or Grand Theft Auto 6, which could end up getting delayed again.

All The Games We’ve Heard Nothing About In 2025
Over the past 12 months, plenty of games have been radio silent.
In that spirit, legendary Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu published its most-wanted games list, as voted by the readers themselves, and let’s just say, neither Pokopia nor Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined took the top spot.
The list, as compiled by My Nintendo News, is as follows:
- Pragmata – 673
- Pokemon Pokopia – 647
- Resident Evil Requiem (PS5) – 557
- Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined (SW2) – 514
- Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined (SW) – 482
- Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined (PS5) – 387
- Persona 4 Revival (PS5) – 323
- Tomodachi Life – 286
- Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave – 265
- Mario Tennis Fever – 254
Yes, you’re looking at that correctly. Pragmata is the readers’ most wanted title. Now, there’s a good chance that the split votes for every version of Dragon Quest may have ultimately hurt its overall standing, but it’s not like Pokopia was that close to overtaking Pragmata.
Ever Since Its Reveal, Pragmata Has Had An Air Of Intrigue Around It
When Pragmata finally drops on April 24, it’ll mark the end of a journey that nearly reached six years of waiting. That’s because Pragmata was already supposed to be out by now, having been announced during the original reveal of the PlayStation 5 with an attached window of 2022.
Except, that didn’t happen, and after being delayed once in 2023, the game was eventually delayed indefinitely by the midpoint of that year. It wasn’t until two years later, in 2025, that Pragmata was re-revealed, this time with a 2026 release window.
Finally, last month, during The Game Awards, it was announced that it would be coming on April 24. For any remaining skeptics, a demo was also simultaneously released, one meant to introduce the game’s hacking mechanics and also to help Capcom avoid another Monster Hunter Wilds disaster on PC.
Still, throughout this whole time, the interest in Pragmata has remained constant. Whether it was theories that it was secretly a Mega Man game (it’s not) down to how its hacking mechanics will play out or which direction its story, which we still little about, will ultimately take, there’s been a level of intrigue that is hard to describe.
Obviously, that showed in the results of the poll, as surprising as it is.
