Pokemon is about to bring its Squishmallows total up to a nice round 20 as the next two plushes in the popular line have been revealed. Shown off by Squishmallows on social media, the 19th and 20th Pokemon joining the plush range soon will be Raichu and Oshawott.
Raichu And Oshawott Join Pokemon’s Squishallows Collection
No details on when exactly Raichu and Oshawott’s Squishmallows will arrive at the Pokemon Center, but that doesn’t matter right now. What matters is that we know they’re coming, and that we’ve been given our first look at them. While both will be the same standard shape and size as all the other Pokemon plushes in the range, each of them has unique details to help them stand out, just like all of the other Squishmallows in Pokemon’s collection.
For instance, Raichu can’t be Raichu without its iconic pointy ears, so the Squishmallow version of the evolved Electric-type has them sticking out the top of its head. You can also see Raichu’s tail peaking out from behind the back of the plush. Oshawott’s Squishmallow has smaller, pointy ears to match the Pokemon’s in-game look, as well as small pieces of plush sewn around its neck to match the Pokemon’s blue collar.

Oshawott Will Be The First Unovan Pokemon To Get A Squishmallow
As with pretty much anything Pokemon, its Squishmallows collection is dominated by the Kanto region. Pikachu alone has three designs – smiling, winking, and regular – and its evolved form joining this particular plush party only ups Kanto’s Squishmallow dominance. Oshawott’s arrival, however, marks a first for Pokemon’s Squishmallows.
The Water-type partner Pokemon is the first from the Unova region to be turned into a Squishmallow. Unlike Sitting Cuties plushes, Pokemon hasn’t been going in any kind of order when it comes to Squishmallows. The range has already been to Paldea on three occasions, as well as Hoenn and Johto, so it’s jumping around, and for the first time, it’s jumping to Unova.
Pokemon tends to release new Squishmallows two at a time, roughly every four months. If it sticks to that pattern, and The Pokemon Company loves its patterns, then you can expect to see Raichu and Oshawott show up in the Pokemon Center sometime in April. The Pokemon Center exclusive versions of the Squishmallows, which come with a Pokemon Center logo embroidered onto them, will be available first. Those versions will be 12 inches tall and cost $29.99 each, barring a price increase.
