Pokemon revealed a lot of stuff last week to celebrate the series turning 30, even providing a first look at its Gen 10 games Winds & Waves. There are more reveals to come, though, including the reveal of what Puma has been cooking up for Pokemon’s birthday.
An anniversary crossover between Pokemon and Puma has been teased for months, and now that the birthday celebrations are finally underway, the iconic sportswear brand is ready to reveal what it’s been working on. Shared by Sole Retriever, Puma’s celebratory Pokemon sneakers are Pikachu-themed, giving the All-Pro Nitro 2s an electric-themed yellow makeover.
Puma’s All-Pro Nitro 2 Sneakers Get The Pokemon Treatment
The sneakers actually look a little like they’ve been made out of Pikachu, although probably not best to think about it in that way too much – sorry for putting that thought in your head. The themed All-Pro Nitro 2s are mostly yellow all over with black markings to represent the ones on Pikachu’s fur, and even two red patches on either side of the laces to replicate the mascot’s cheeks.

As well as an SS Anne diorama and keyrings that look like mini versions of every mainline Pokemon game.
A splash of electricity adorns the toe of each sneaker, and in case it isn’t already obvious enough that you’re sporting sneakers designed specifically for Pikachu’s (and the rest of the original 151’s) birthday, the Electric-type makes a couple of more obvious appearances throughout the Nitro 2s’ design. Pikachu can be found on the side of the left trainer, and looking rather angry on the inside of each sneaker’s tongue.
I’d be angry too if I had to spend the rest of eternity with my face pressed up against the top of someone’s foot.
When You’ll Be Able To Buy Puma’s Pikachu Sneakers And How Much They’ll Cost
Puma’s Pokemon anniversary sneakers aren’t available yet, but you don’t have long to wait. They’ll be released on April 1, 2026, from which point they’ll be available through Puma’s website as well as in Puma stores and other third-party retailers. The Pikachu pumps will cost $140 a pair, which, considering that’s roughly how much All-Pro Nitro 2s cost without Pikachu’s likeness slapped on them, is a welcome surprise. Typically, giving a regular product an officially licensed Pokemon makeover drives the price up quite a bit. Just look at the recently released Pokemon Lego sets.
There’s no indication yet of whether Pokemon’s latest Puma team-up will include more designs, or if Pikachu is the only one getting the sneaker treatment as part of the iconic series’ anniversary celebrations. The last time Pokemon teamed up with a shoe brand, it created designs for Pikachu and all three Kanto starters with the help of Clarks, and then added more creatures to the collection the following year.
