Hey. You. Are you pre-ordering Pokemon Pokopia? If so, watch out. Remember to always check which retailers are offering unique bonuses for choosing to do so through their businesses. And, for the love of heck, contemplate going elsewhere if you’re in the U.S. and happened to be considering Amazon.
Unveiled today, Amazon’s United States storefront has made waves for its Pokemon Pokopia pre-order bonus. Not for the right reasons. I guess we can wait and see what other retailers have in mind for their own partnerships with The Pokemon Company, because uhh… unless they’re looking to sell us on vases and ceiling fans, they’ve got this fight in the bag.
It’s Not Even A Sudowoodo
A real tree. An honest-to-goodness tree. Look. I love trees as much as the next social-media-hating hippie, but I don’t play Pokemon games for them. And yes. I get it. Pokopia blends decorating elements like Animal Crossing, Dragon Quest Builders, Stardew Valley, and all the rest of them. But it’s Pokemon. At least make the tree look vaguely like a Bonsly or something.
I guess a gift is better than no gift. But if you’ve never been fully comfortable with pre-ordering as a rule, preferring to wait for critic and audience reviews instead, then I certainly hope this isn’t the game to break your stance. At least, not when other options exist. Like this Ditto rug, via Pokemon.com. Sure, it’s a rug. But it has some semblance of personality to it. That’s something.
I don’t have much else to say, so this is a pretty short article, innit? Just… wow. Props to anyone who’s hyped for the tree. Knock yourselves out sprucing up your humble abode. For the rest of us, I’m wincing.

Sounds like at least some of it will get toned down. Or… toned up?
