Nintendo’s fruitful relationship with Lego began in 2020 when it released not just its first Mario sets, but also a buildable NES complete with a Lego TV to match. Now it seems PlayStation wants a piece of that toy brick pie, as a Lego leak suggests that the console creator will return to its roots later this year by releasing a Lego version of the PS1.
A Reliable Lego Leaker Has Claimed We’re Getting A PS1 Set This Christmas
The leak claiming we’ll be building Lego PS1s in time for Christmas comes from the typically reliable lego_minecraft_goat. There are naturally no images of the set out in the wild at this early stage, but the account claims the original PlayStation will have been turned into a Lego set by the end of 2026, releasing in December.
The leak claims that the set will come with at least one Lego controller and be made up of 1,911 pieces. That would make it quite a bit smaller than the 2,646-piece NES set, although there’s no indication that the PS1 will come with a TV like that one, which might explain the size disparity.
Now that I’ve said it, a Lego PS1 with a matching Lego CRT might fix me.

Lego Must Have Heard Your Complaints As It Just Revealed Its First Mario Minifigure
After six years of sets, Lego is finally caving to popular demand and turning Mario characters into traditional minifigures.
Since the Lego PS1 will be quite a bit smaller than the Lego NES, it will also be quite a bit cheaper. Again, provided this leak is accurate. $159.99 for the PS1 set, according to the leak, which is a full $100 cheaper than Nintendo’s first Lego console.
Yeah, I’m definitely not getting that Lego CRT, am I?
Lego And PlayStation Have An Existing Relationship Through Horizon
Even though the PS1 will be the first PlayStation console to be officially turned into Lego should the leak come true, there is already a relationship there. Not only did PlayStation release a Lego game a couple of years ago, Lego Horizon Adventures, but there are also some Horizon Lego sets. Most notably, the Tallneck which has since been retired, but the smaller set featuring Aloy and Varl minifigures is still available.
Nintendo now has two Lego consoles, as last year it added the Game Boy to its collection. If it’s going in release order, you can expect to see a Lego SNES next, though there has been neither a leak nor official word of that happening any time soon. Hopefully, that means we’ll eventually be getting a Lego PS2 should the Lego PS1 leak come true. A fan build of exactly that might be why we’re potentially getting a Lego PS1. A Lego Ideas PS2 set received enough support to be officially considered by Lego a little over a year ago. Now we’re getting word that a Lego PS1 might be in the works. It all feels a little too coincidental if you ask me.
