Yesterday, Bethesda shared an itinerary on Instagram for its Fallout Day 2025 celebrations, making it explicitly clear that Fallout 5 will not appear. But, like so many of its posts lately, the comments were inundated with calls for a New Vegas remaster – this time, even Danny Trejo joined in.
“Remaster New Vegas boss!” he posted alongside a fire emoji.
If you forgot that Danny Trejo was in the game, don’t worry, he did too – at least, according to someone who met him at Montreal Comic-Con (“he just looked at me super confused”). He played fan-favourite companion Raul Tejada, a ghoul mechanic and famed gunslinger, otherwise known as The Ghost of Mexico City.
At Least Give Raul A Cameo In The Fallout TV Series
Trejo might’ve forgotten his time in the booth, but he’s a staunch New Vegas fan all the same. Just three days ago, for its 15th anniversary, he posted a stunning art piece from Deimos of Raul in his prime, captioned, “Best game out there boss!”
In the art, Raul more closely resembles Trejo, even donning his iconic moustache. Looking at the piece, it’s hard to blame people for wanting him to cameo in the Prime Video series, especially with it heading back to the Mojave later this year. And frankly, that might be a more realistic idea, since everything right now points to Fallout 3 being the next game after Oblivion to get the remaster treatment.
Oblivion Remastered was first revealed when the FTC accidentally shared an unredacted internal Bethesda roadmap, which had it slated to launch a couple of years before a Fallout 3 remaster.
Reputable leaker NateTheHate claimed earlier this year that the project still exists, but “it’ll be a while before we see it.” So, with Fallout 3 up next, it’s hard to imagine that we’ll see a New Vegas remaster manifest anytime soon.
Maybe the community will sway Bethesda and Microsoft, but in the meantime, we have Season 2 of the Prime Video series to look forward to. Set to air later this year on December 17, the show is finally taking us back to one of the most iconic locales in the series’ history.
