Marvel Rivals Savage Land Rogue Skin Divides Fans

Marvel Rivals Savage Land Rogue Skin Divides Fans

Marvel Rivals just gave us our first look at Rogue in action, revealing that she’s a Vanguard. This will come as a relief to many, since we have far too many Duelists as it is, and it would be odd to get two Strategists in the same season.

However, another reveal is much less popular with the community – one of Rogue’s first skins. Alongside the gameplay trailer, a render of Rogue has been shared around, appearing to show her rumoured “Savage Lands” skin on her character model. And, well… I’ll just let you take a look for yourself.

Marvel Rivals’ First Skin For Rogue Might Have Just Been Revealed

First up, it’s another gooner skin. That doesn’t necessarily make it a bad skin. There are plenty of gooner skins that look pretty good in Marvel Rivals (Invisible Woman’s Malice skin comes to mind). But this aesthetic was never going to be everyone’s cup of tea.

This skin also goes pretty far, even by Marvel Rivals’ standards. Like, her whole rogussy is just hanging out. It makes Loki’s bulge look tame.

There’s also the fact that there are just so many Rogue designs you could pull from, and this is what we got. Many were hoping for a look inspired by Rogue’s appearance in X-Men Evolution – the one that made her a little gothic. But alas, we’ll just have to wait and see if that gets added further down the line.

Now, there is a chance that this is not the final look for the Savage Lands skin. A nameplate for Invisible Woman was shared ahead of time, and showed much more of the character’s anatomy than we can in-game. Rogue’s skin could be similarly toned down, but that wouldn’t help with the complaints that it’s just a bit ugly.

Whatever you make of the skin, you’ll be able to play as Rogue in Marvel Rivals starting this Friday. Good luck trying to instalock her alongside everyone else. At least those of you who have been mastering Gambit will be able to make the most of the team-up he and Magneto are getting with Rogue.
