The Life is Strange TV series has found its leads, and they might not be names you’ve heard before.
It’s just been confirmed that Tatum Grace Hopkins and Maisy Stella will play Max and Chloe respectively, bringing the characters into live action. Hopkins follows on from Hannah Telle, who has voiced Max in every appearance, and Stella is the third actor to play Chloe, after Ashly Burch in the first game, with Rhianna DeVries taking over in Before the Storm and the upcoming sequel, Reunion.
The Next Actors To Portray Max And Chloe Have Been Revealed
The team behind the show are very much going for new talent here, so no one’s fancast will be accurate. Tatum Grace Hopkins, who will play the lead role of Max Caulfield, only has one other role to her name on IMDb, appearing in a short film back in 2024.
Meanwhile, Maisy Stella appeared in Nashville as a child, playing Daphne Conrad from 2012 to 2018. After that, she embarked on a carerr in music, before returning to acting. Her involvement in Life is Strange had leaked already, but many of us assumed she would be playing Max instead.
Considering that Life is Strange in a choice based game, it will be interesting to see how it accounts for this. The ending is likely to be divisive whichever way it goes, but at the very least, the decision to focus on Max and Chloe as a pair – as this casting reveal suggests – will sit well with fans.
The Life is Strange show is being helmed by Amazon Prime. Amazon is also hosting the God of War show that we just got a look at (met with a mixed reception), as it’s clear that the company is going all in on gaming adaptations following the success of Fallout. It also has a Mass Effect show in the works, but we haven’t seen anything from that yet.
