PlayStation‘s first big State of Play for the year had plenty of announcements, including the long-awaited reveal of the triple-A John Wick game.
January may have been a bit of a dry period for gaming, but we’re finally starting to see some big and exciting things. Not only did we have a Nintendo Partner Showcase last week, but tonight is giving us PlayStation’s first big State of Play showcase for 2026, which seems to be a big one.
At around an hour long, PlayStation has a chance to really wow us, which it has a very good chance of doing since we know so little about what its 2026 looks like outside of Wolverine. That left it open to some pretty big surprises, including the confirmation of the game we’ve all been waiting for.

Saber Interactive Is Leading Development
Tonight’s State of Play had a lot to unpack, but one of the most surprising moments was the announcement of a triple-A John Wick game. The trailer showed Wick suiting up before unleashing the beatdown on a bunch of thugs. Saber Interactive appears to be developing the John Wick game, and from what we’ve seen so far, it’s looking pretty stellar.
