There’s a lot to be done in Infinity Nikki, and in the 1.9 update during Music Season, Nikki received a wonderful gift: a homestead to call her own among the Sea of Stars! However, there are a few requirements before you can unlock the new home and all the abilities that come with it.
We’ll break down how to get your own home island and what you can do with it below. From planting beautiful flowers to raising your favorite animals, or just decorating for hours, here’s everything you need to know about the floating Home Island in Infinity Nikki!
How To Unlock The Home Island
To unlock your new home, journey to the Sea of Stars to complete the Set Off For A Warm Place quest. The Seer will introduce you to Orion at the Unbound Wharf, allowing you to take a starry boat ride to the island created for you.
From there, speak with Posy and follow her instructions to learn all about your new abilities and name your island! Don’t worry, you can take things at your own pace and change your island name whenever you’d like.
Home Island Abilities
On the home island, there are several abilities you can use to make it your own. As of the 1.11 Encore Season update, there are six abilities:
- Construction. This allows you to decorate the island, moving mountains and furniture alike!
- Planting. This ability lets you garden, planting herbs, flowers, trees, and all sorts of plants.
- Star Collecting. This ability grants Nikki a chance to gather falling meteorites each day.
- Animal Inviting. This outfit lets you play music for and befriend the animals of Miraland, inviting them to stay with you.
- Fish Keeping. This outfit lets Nikki grow fish in ponds on the island.
- Cooking. This outfit lets Nikki whip up sweet desserts, mix colorful drinks, and stir up delicious stews for benefits.
Each of these abilities can be unlocked with a permit purchased from Posy, and they can be leveled up using Home Insight and astralites earned through doing your regular activities around the island.
Each ability has ten levels, offering additional rewards for every upgrade.
Visiting Friend’s Islands
You can use the signboard to visit other players’ islands across the sea of stars, though the selection is random. However, you can favorite the ones you like and revisit them later. Refresh the signboard to get a new selection of islands and previews.
There’s a small cooldown between refreshes.
You can also head over to the flowery archway gate to see your friends’ islands. To visit anytime, you first need to link and become neighbors. Simply send out a request and wait for your friend to respond! You can then visit even when they’re offline.
You can even trade gifts with other players through the mail system, whether you spend astralites to ship the gifts out or you hold onto them to trade in person. Gifts are unique items that cannot be crafted for yourself, so you’ll need to either reach out to friends to get the items you want or create an alternate account to gift them to yourself.
How To Host Your Island
For 2,000 astralites, you can host your island for the week. This allows friends you haven’t met yet to visit your island through the signboard!
They can explore, leave a like at the heart counter, and interact with anything on your island. Make sure to share plenty of photos!
How To Farm Astralites
You can never have too many astralites. This is the main currency on the home island, and Posy has 300,000 to trade you each week. The main way you’ll get these astralites is by selling crops, animal products, fish, and furniture that Posy requests for an increased price.
Additionally, you’ll accumulate astralites over time in the giant pink flower by where Posy waits for you. Strike the flower with a purifying orb to drop the accumulated astralites.
You can also trade additional Dreamland Stones from the Dreamland Showcase for a few astralites, though these points are better spent on limited-time discounts.
How To Plant Crops On The Home Island
Gardening is as simple as crafting the Spring Blossom outfit and picking your seeds. Approach a plot of dirt to plant the seeds, then wait the appropriate amount of time to harvest them.
When you harvest flowers and other crops, there’s a random chance of what color variant you’ll get, determined by the rarity. You can increase these odds by using different fertilizers to speed up the timer and increase your odds of a special harvest!
There are three types of plots:
- Large Plots. These are for massive trees, which are expensive and valuable when fully-grown.
- Medium Plots. These are for small trees and trellis-based plants like lamp chilis.
- Small Plots. Most crops will go in these spaces, including flowers and herbs.
Once you harvest enough crops of a single color, you can specifically plant that variant instead of a mystery option.
How To Collect Meteorites On The Home Island
To collect meteorites around the island, craft the Star Memory outfit and activate its ability. Nikki enters a special vision mode that allows her to sense the glowing meteorite fragments.
There are four rarities, each in a different color, which can be used to craft new items. Leveling up this ability grants you more chances to collect meteorites each day.
There’s also a small chance that a giant meteorite will land in your front yard by the docks! When this happens, you can collect special fragments for free, which allow you to craft screens of The Eight for your home.
You can trade portraits with other players as gifts, or create screens yourself.
How To Grow Fish On The Home Island
Fish are especially costly and time consuming, but you’ll need them for various crafting and cooking recipes. Using the Fish Tales outfit, Nikki and Momo can purchase bags of guppies and toss them into ponds on the island.
Much like gardening, you’ll have to wait for the fish to mature before you can collect them. Once you do, they’ll be stored in your inventory until used to craft or until sold to Posy for extra astralites.
Since fish are so expensive to raise, it’s often better not to sell them unless Posy offers a bonus. Instead, try catching fish in Miraland for a chance to collect guppies there!
How To Befriend Animals On The Home Island
The Meadow Symphony outfit allows Nikki to listen to the animals around Miraland and mirror their songs in a small minigame Upon successfully completing this minigame, Nikki can head to an animal lodge on the home island and interact with it to bring an animal home.
Small animal lodges are for the little fluffy critters, like Floofs and Celebcrows. The large animal lodges can hold Florasheep, horses, and other prominent animals across Miraland. You can even build relationships with these animals to earn privileges like naming them and giving them accessories.
Leaving animal treats in the lodges will allow you to collect resources from them, including the standard materials you can gain by grooming them. These materials accumulate quickly, so you can often sell large quantities for extra astralites.
Just make sure to save enough for crafting!
How To Decorate The Home Island
The most prominent aspect of the home island is decorating, which can be done with the Flawless Vision outfit. This allows Nikki to rush around the island putting up walls, tearing them down, and completely terraforming the island.
Before you do anything, make sure to save the default island as a scheme first so you can come back to it! Trust me on this.
At first, you’ll only have access to one part of the island. As you gain more astralites, you can purchase the additional expansions that unfold around your home.
New furniture can be made at the crafting desk, consuming a wide variety of materials. You can also craft consumable items like dew and fish bait, as well as paint to recolor the walls and selected furniture.
There is a load limit, and certain decorations take up more space than others! Be mindful of this and consider increasing the level of this ability to raise the initial load cap.
How To Cook Meals On The Home Island
Finally, you can set up a kitchen and prepare drinks, stews, and desserts for a well-rounded meal. Recipes can be learned by sharing meals with others or experimenting with your ingredients. Each type of dish requires a different set of cookware, including the standard patisserie counter, stovetop, and drink bar.
Different recipes have different minigames to complete if you want to make a meal, with a small chance to create a delicious dish. Each dish has a different effect, from granting Nikki Home Insight to increasing the amount of astralites she gets from selling items to Posy for a select number of hours.
To place a meal, open your decorating menu to set down placemats on any surface. Save the layout and approach with food in your inventory. You can select which items to put out on display, allowing Nikki to interact with them.
Other players can interact with food items as well, and you can trade snacks to learn new recipes!
