How To Unlock Extra Storage In StarRupture

How To Unlock Extra Storage In StarRupture

Wandering the permanently regenerating lands of Arcadia-7 in StarRupture can be a tough but satisfying task, with many different minerals and other resources to gather. Eventually, your personal inventory will fill up quickly, and you will want to expand it to gather more resources as you explore.

There are a few storage solutions in StarRupture, including more slots in your character’s inventory, personal storage in each of your habitats, and large storage depots to handle large amounts of items across your connected buildings. Here is everything you need to know about increasing storage in StarRupture.

StarRupture is currently in Early Access, so some information may change over time. We will keep you updated as and when this occurs.

How To Unlock And Increase Storage In StarRupture

Starrupture Personal Storage in Habitat.

At the start of the game, you have 24 inventory slots on your character. Each of these slots can be filled with up to hundreds of pieces of each resource or item. The amount you can carry for each item depends on what it is. For example:

  • Ammo: 300 per slot
  • Ore: 100 per slot
  • Basic Building Materials: 1,000 per slot

When first exploring the land, this is a pretty generous number of inventory slots, but eventually, you will require more space, especially as you start to travel further afield. It is recommended that you pick up everything you come across during each journey out of your base, as everything has its use, and you will often need hundreds of these resources. You will soon notice how quickly your inventory fills up.

Story items, weapons, and tools don’t take up slots in your inventory. Story items, such as Blueprints, are also not dropped upon death.

Because the planet suffers from regular attacks from rupture waves, devastating the land and killing everything in its path (including you if you’re not careful!), exploration can be very risky. With this in mind, you need to carry some essential items in case you get caught out during a wave.

The only thing that can protect you during a wave is your Habitat protected by a Base Core. If you intend to be out exploring for a long time, make sure to take enough resources to quickly build a Base Care and Habitat, with an airlock, to keep you safe. You will need the following:

  • Base Core: 1 Meteorite Heart
  • Habitat: 20 Basic Building Materials
  • Airlock: 10 Basic Building Materials

Of course, this means two of your slots are taken up by Basic Building Materials and Meteorite Hearts, with other slots for ammo, food and drink, leaving only a handful for gathering resources.

You can first upgrade your inventory by accepting contracts from the Selenian Corporation. After completing the level 3 contract with the company, you will have an extra 8 inventory slots. After this, you have the opportunity to upgrade your inventory further with contracts from other corporations:

  • Future Health Solutions: level 7
  • Griffits Blue Corporation: level 8
  • Moon Energy Corporation: level 11

After unlocking each upgrade, you will end up with 56 inventory slots for your character. This should be enough for one long trek across the land, gathering flora and minerals, or uncovering Blueprints and War Bonds from deceased humans.

As you continue to mine, refine, and craft items, you will need storage on your base. There are Personal Storage solutions to place any excess items for safekeeping and later use, and there are also Storage Depots to place on assembly lines to store excess materials during refinement and crafting.

Satisfactory: 6 Best Vehicles

You have different options when it comes to what vehicles you can use for needs in Satisfactory. Here we have ranked the best of them.

All Storage Types

There are four types of storage in StarRupture, from your own small inventory to large, expandable storage units attached to your buildings outside. Each can help you streamline and organize your resources properly and keep your production lines in check.

Personal Storage is unlocked with Clever Robotics with a level 2 contract, with a larger upgrade later at level 9. These are placed within your Habitat, with 18 slots in the regular storage and 42 slots in the large upgrade. Personal Storage slots act like the slots in your inventory, with each slot holding a different number of each resource (100 of one ore type, 1,000 building materials etc).

Place all Personal Storage on walls to save space in your Habitats.

Storage Depots are placed outside, and are meant to redistribute resources to all connected buildings. Unlock this storage type by completing the level 3 contract with Clever Robotics, with an upgrade later at level 8. This holds 400 units of one item, upgraded to 1600 units at level 8.

Multistorage keeps your excess items safe before sending them to machines that require them. Unlike the Storage Depots, these store 2500 units of different items in one place. Unlock this storage solution at level 12 contract with Clever Robotics.

Expandable Storage is like Multistorage, but with the capability to be expanded further. Each expansion holds 1600 units of different items, and each uses more power, so further power units will need to be added. Unlock this at level 13 with Clever Robotics.
