How To Raise The Environment Level In Pokemon Pokopia

How To Raise The Environment Level In Pokemon Pokopia

As you begin your journey in Pokemon Pokopia, you’ll quickly be introduced to the PC outside the Pokemon Center. Here, you can access the shop, earn challenge rewards, access multiplayer, and most importantly, check your Environment Level.

Your Environment Level is the rating system that shows you how well your town is doing. You can think of it similarly to the Island rating system in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as it is primarily based on the changes you’ve made to the town and how well your Pokemon are enjoying themselves. Raising this level will unlock new challenges, shop items, and help you make overall story progress.

As mentioned, this system works relatively similarly to the ACNH island rating system, which increases when you make positive changes to the island. That said, Pokemon Pokopia’s Environment Level goes beyond the traditional 5-star rating system and is a lot more direct about what you need to do to raise the level.

To view your Environment Level at any time, simply interact with the PC, and it will appear at the top of the screen. If you interact with it further, you’ll see a list of all the Pokemon you’ve welcomed up to this point and where they fall on the overall Pokemon comfort level scale. They’ll range from Iffy to Great, and ideally, you want as many of them in Great as possible.

You’ll occasionally see an arrow next to some of them pointing up or down, indicating that a recent change you made either positively or negatively affected them based on their preferences. To increase your Environment Level, you’ll want to continue improving the environment by making Pokemon habitats the best they can possibly be.

That said, simply discovering new Pokemon can also help increase your Environment Level, so you’ll want to make sure you’re building new habitats for Pokemon to spawn into and discovering ones you may not have tried before.

Interacting with traces of Pokemon, which appear as sparkling spots on the ground, can give you a clue about new habitats you may not have discovered yet. New Pokemon can teach you Transform abilities that you can then use to continue fixing up the environment, like Squirtle’s Water Gun and Bulbasaur’s Leafage.

A lot of habitats can spawn more than one type of Pokemon, so don’t be afraid to create duplicate habitats to help you discover those Pokemon as well. New Pokemon will not spawn inside someone else’s habitat.

It seems vague, but as long as you are restoring moisture to the grass and trees, planting greenery, building new habitats, and welcoming new Pokemon, your Environment Level will increase in no time. You’ll get a notification when your Environment Level has met the conditions to increase, but you’ll need to interact with the PC to trigger the upgrade and receive the rewards for your new level.
