Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is filled with cryptic puzzles that have stumped players since the original PlayStation release, but few are as deceptively simple as the statue crossing puzzle found in the Grand Conjuratorium.
This enigmatic challenge requires you to walk through doorways in a precise pattern to summon a hidden platform leading to valuable treasures below. What makes this puzzle particularly clever is that it appears twice in the Hubble region – once in the Conjuratorium itself and once in Hubble Castle’s Water Tower, where an identical solution unlocks a guarded chest. If you’ve been wandering in circles trying to crack this riddle, here’s exactly how to solve it.
How To Solve The Statue Puzzle
The only clue you get regarding the form of this puzzle is from a woman in the past versions of the region, in the same room as the puzzle in Hubble Castle. You’ll find her on the second floor of the Water Tower (which is to the east once you enter the castle).
To put it simply, the solution is:
- Begin by standing underneath the statue on the left side of the room.
- Walk directly through the centre of the room, out the gap in the wall on the east side.
- Move around to the top of the room on the outside of it.
- Walk directly through the centre of the room and out the gap in the bottom.
Doing this in the Water Tower will open the chest in the centre of the room. Doing this in the entrance hall of the Grand Conjuratorium will lift a walkway to the stairs in the centre of the room, too allowing you access to a new area that contains treasures of its own.
The secret area in the Grand Conjuratorium contains a tablet fragment and a statue that, when spoken to, will grant you a more powerful version of The Great Leveller (once you’ve completed the story events at Hubble!) so it’s well-worth the trip!
