How To Open The BSAA Shipping Containers In Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem is filled with secrets and missable items you can easily run by if you aren’t checking every nook and cranny. While some are tied to puzzles, others simply require you to find specific keys to access the goodies inside.

One of these is the BSAA Container Key, which is an item you will need to unlock the blue containers throughout Raccoon City. While getting the Container Key is fairly easy, you can easily miss two of the three containers — one of which contains a weapon that Leon can use! Here’s how to get the key and where all the containers are located.

Early on, when you arrive in Raccoon City, you will come across a couple of large shipping containers that you cannot open. Thankfully, you will be able to open these a little later in your exploration of this desolated location. Progress through the story as you normally would until you kill a large bio-weapon boss a few minutes after discovering the first shipping container.

Once the boss is slain, you’ll discover a BSAA Camp that has been abandoned. Proceed through the Logistics Warehouse right next door until you earn the Cedarbrook Apartment key. Now use that key on the alleydoor to make your way into the flooded parking garage. Restore the power by finding the two batteries in this location and slot them into the fuse box next to the large gate to give you access to the road.

While out on the street, approach the group of dead BSAA agents to trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene is complete, you will earn the BSAA Container Key. This is an unmissable cutscene, so don’t worry about accidentally skipping past it. Just keep progressing through the game until you restore power to the flooded parking garage and can make your way back onto the road.

BSAA Container Locations

Container 1 Location

The first container is located at the BSAA Camp, to the right of the tent. Inside the container, you will find a motorcycle and a Repair Kit, which you need to fix the Signal Receiver you’ll find on the roof of the Cedarbrook Apartment complex. This is a quest item, so make sure to grab it ASAP so you don’t have to backtrack.

Container 2 Location

The next container is located back outside The Applegate Hotel. To get back to this container, you will need to first get the fuel can from the gas station and fill the generator next to the construction site door to the west of this location. Once you enter the construction site, fight your way through until you reach a set of ladders going down into the subway.

Follow the path through the subway, killing any zombies or spiders you may encounter. Eventually, you’ll open up a shortcut between the two areas of Raccoon City you’ve explored. Head back to the entrance of the hotel, but be ready for a fight as four zombies will emerge when you get close to the container.

Slay them all and open the container with the key. Inside is the BSAA Charm, which improves damage on the sniper rifle when a scope isn’t equipped, and a legendary tracking module that can be turned in for 8,600 credits.

You can find the final container near the end of the road on the east side of the map. As you make your way east, wait till the road begins to go down a decline and look for a crashed truck with a big blue container on the back. When you see this, hook a left once you go past the front of the truck. Along the side of the truck will be a half-ladder that you can jump up to by approaching it and pressing A (Xbox) / X (PlayStation).

Follow the short elevated path to the drop-down area where an explosive barrel and the BSAA Container are. Do not blow up the explosive barrel, instead leave it and open up the container. Inside, there will be several zombies, so back up and throw that explosive barrel at them to instantly kill the ghouls inside.

Once they’re dead, go to the large case in the back and open it. Inside will be some rifle ammo and the Marksman 1A semi-automatic rifle. This is a faster-firing rifle that trades sheer stopping power for an improved rate of fire and magazine size. It’s great for taking down multiple enemies, while the Classic 70 is ideal for shooting boss or mini-boss weak spots.

After visiting all three BSAA containers, the key will be consumed, and leave your inventory! Remember, once you blow the gates up with the bomb, you will not be able to return to this area. So make sure to visit all the containers before you leave.
