In Fields of Mistria, you’ll build a new life on the farm with nothing but your wits and a dream. There are plenty of friends you’ll make along the way, and tons of secrets to uncover as you delve deeper into the ruins of the mines west of town.
Every few levels in the mines, you’ll come across a seal that needs to be broken. Each requires specific materials to open, and we’ll help you find the vital components to break the Ruins Seal on floor 80. Take a look at how you can quickly gather everything you need to progress further!
How To Create The Void Mass
After breaking the Fire Seal and descending to floor 80 in the mines, you’ll realize that the Ruins Seal is much more dangerous than the previous ones. Once Caldarus takes physical form and saves you from the sealing scroll trap, you’ll need to return to floor 80 to speak with the Priestess.

Here, she’ll grant you a new passive ability: Void Sight. This allows you to see new materials on another plane, which you’ll need to get past the Ruins Seal in the mines. You’ll need to get four different materials: Void Stones, Void Herbs, Void Pearls, and Void Powder. Thus begins the Creating the Void Mass quest.

Void Pearls can be fished out of water around the mines. They look like black pearls, but more whimsical in nature. Cast your line into the water and collect pearls for the altar. Try aiming for the smaller shadows!

How To Break The Ruins Seal
Once you place all of these items in the void to create the void mass, you’ll be able to access the list of required materials to break the Ruins Seal. Giving these items to the Void replica of yourself will work, since you can’t interact with the altar itself.
Where To Catch Firesail Fish
Firesail fish can be caught in the waters in the fire caverns, from floors 61-79. Try casting your line for larger fish shadows to get this fish, and be patient as it may take a while.
Where To Find Obsidian
Head to the fire caverns on floors 61-79 and use your sword to shatter the black crystals around the levels. You’ll eventually find obsidian in the debris and collect it.
Where To Catch Smoke Moths
Smoke moths are an uncommon bug, and the best way to find them is to scour the levels of the fire caverns. They won’t always spawn, but it seems like there’s a better chance to catch them between floors 75-79, but they will appear throughout the cavern. If you’re having trouble, try using uncommon pheromones from the terrarium to trigger a smoke moth!
Where To Find Breath Of Flame
Finally, Breath of Flame is a forageable plant in the fire caverns. Look for the signature red leaves between level 61-79 and make sure there’s enough space in your inventory to collect it.
With all the materials collected, head to the altar on floor 80 and deliver the items to the Void replica. In your stead, it will place the objects and break the seal, allowing you to access the lowest levels of the dungeon.
