Paper can be surprisingly elusive to find in Pokemon Pokopia. It seems simple, however, howeever it’s a pretty late game option to try and create. To make paper, you’ll need specific Pokemon and materials, and there are a few places you can find exactly what you need.
Whether you want to find materials at a dream island or try and collect them yourself, you’ll need to get a few things in order to create paper for quests and crafting you’ll want to complete later. Here’s how to get everything you ned to make paper, and all the Pokemon that you can use to do so.
How To Make Paper
To make paper, you’ll need to find the original resource, wastepaper, that’ll be scattered around the environment. You’ll also need to have access to a Pokemon friend that has the Recycle specialty.
Where To Find Wastepaper
First, you’ll need to find wastepaper, which will spawn in two locations:
- Sparkling Skylands
- Dream Islands
You can also sometimes find wastepaper in Palette Town.
Once you have access to the Sparkling Skylands, you’ll see wastepaper littered around garbage bins and other debris for you to collect. We usually found wastepaper lying around elevated areas on the towers.
If you need more, the fastest way to collect wastepaper is to travel to a Dream Island.
Specifically, the dream island from the Dragonite doll will take you to an island that has
- Wastepaper
- Pokemetal
- Crystal Fragments
You can find the Dragonite doll hidden somewhere in the ground in the Sparkling Skysands.

How To Turn Wastepaper Into Paper
Once you have wastepaper, take your bundles to any Pokemon with the Recycle specialty. Show them the wastepaper, and they’ll ask whether you want to turn it into paper. Select the amount, and they’ll begin the process.
The earliest Pokemon you’ll find with the Recycle specialty are:
Though any Pokemon with Recycle will do, these two can be found earlier on Bleak Beach. You should already have a Trubbish you can take wastepaper to turn into paper, having completed the Bleak Beach quests, to have access to Sparkling Skysands.
What To Do With Paper
Once you have paper, you’ll be able to complete several late-game quests in Sparkling Skysands. You’ll also learn the recipe for a mini bookcase and be able to make other furniture options. You’ll need paper to complete the Team Initiation Challenge as well.
