Pokemon and humans interact in countless ways throughout Pokemon Legends: Z-A, especially during the Mega Dimension DLC. If you’ve ever wondered about the practical applications that certain Pokemon moves might have in assisting humans, then the ‘Octolock Away The Pain!’ side mission provides the perfect answer.
In this side mission, you’ll learn about how to evolve Clobbopus into Grapploct, and fill out your collection of TMs as a reward for your trouble. It’s time to learn about the wonders of evolution, back pain, and chiropractic Pokemon moves during this unusual side mission.
How To Start ‘Octolock Away The Pain!’
Before you can get started, you’ll need to progress through the Mega Dimension main story to Hyperspace Mission 3, a.k.a. Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 2, which will unlock more side missions across the Lumiose City map. Doing this will also enable Side Mission 138: Octolock Away The Pain! for you.
This side mission can be slightly challenging to find. Start at the pin right outside the Rust Syndicate office, and go west, then north until you’re standing at the spot where it says ‘Bleu Sector 4’ on the map, right near the greenery.
From there, turn left and go forward until you see an alleyway on your right. Go down this alleyway and follow the path.
Once you go through the alley and down a small flight of stairs, you’ll see a man hunched over in the tunnel ahead of you. Approach and talk to this man, Kazuki, to begin Side Mission 138: Octolock Away The Pain!

How To Get A Grapploct With Octolock
After you learn about Kazuki’s back issue, your first step is to get a Grapploct by evolving a Clobbopus.
If you haven’t found a Clobbopus yet, they’re typically available in Hyperspace Wild Zones with other Fighting-type Pokemon.
To evolve a Clobbopus, teach it the move Taunt, then raise it to level 35 to enable the Evolve option in the menu.
Once you have a Grapploct, teach it the move Octolock, which is available in its re-learnable moves immediately after it evolves. With your Grapploct ready, take it out of its Poke Ball and use Octolock on Kazuki, which will help sort out his back issues, completing Side Mission 138: ‘Octolock Away The Pain!’.
