How To Get Chesnaughtite In Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is finally kicking off Season 3 of its ranked battles, which means players will finally be able to obtain Chesnaught’s Mega Stone and complete the Mega Stone collection for Kalos starters. That said, Chesnaughtite isn’t the only exciting news regarding Season 3.

Ranked Battles will also be seeing a new Pokemon hit the battlefield this season, as Zygarde finally becomes legal. However, this addition also brings new rules regarding the use of legendary Pokemon on Ranked Battle teams, which means the meta is certain to see a bit of a shift this season.

When Does Season Three Start And End?

Season Three of Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Ranked Battles will kick off on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, and end on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. So, players will have until then to earn all the available rewards for each rank of the season.

Which Pokemon Can Be Used?

Since the start of Ranked Battles, every Pokemon in the game, aside from Zygarde, has been legal. Even Diancie, who was a late promotional addition to the game. However, all that changes this season since Zygarde has been added to the roster of legal Pokemon, meaning you may now use every single Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A in Ranked Battles.

The Mega Dimension DLC will be dropping in the middle of this season, but likely, we won’t see or know anything about how those Pokemon will be included in Ranked Battles until the start of Season Four.

However, there are some rules tacked on with that freedom. Each team may consist of only three Pokemon, and you may only have one Pokemon of a single species per team. This means that just because Garchomp is legal, it doesn’t mean you are permitted to have a team of three Garchomps.

Additionally, some new rules have been implemented with Legendary and Mythical Pokemon this season. While you are permitted to use Yveltal, Xerneas, Zygarde, and Diancie, you may only have one of those four Pokemon on a single team, even though they’re different species. So, if you’re hoping to use a Legendary or Mythical Pokemon on your team this season, you’ll have to settle for what you believe to be the best one.

All Pokemon will still be automatically set to Level 50, regardless of the level they are when you add them to your team.

Of course, since matches consist of four players, this doesn’t mean you’ll be totally free from potentially landing in a match where you have to face three Legendary Pokemon at one time, but it does at least mean you won’t knock out Zygarde only to have the same player swap in Xerneas right after.

In addition to rank-up rewards, you will also receive rewards for each match, regardless of whether you ranked up. These rewards typically consist of EXP or Rare Candies that can then be used to level up your Pokemon. This also means that if you reach Rank A and want to continue participating in matches, you’ll still be able to earn some worthwhile rewards that may come in handy in the Mega Dimension DLC.
