Arc Raiders loves throwing you into messy situations and trusting you to figure things out, but Combat Recon asks you to slow down and survive long enough to learn something useful. This mission sends you deep into Buried City to identify smart cover positions and study one of the game’s most intimidating ARC threats from a safe distance.
It is part scouting run and part reminder that preparation matters just as much as firepower. Going in blind can turn a quick objective into a costly extraction, especially with enemies start roaming nearby. A little planning and a clear sense of direction go a long way here. How To Scope Out Cover Spots In Buried City

How To Get A Spotter Relay
With all three cover spots scouted, you can now focus on destroying Spotters. Spotters only appear when a Bombardier is present on the map, and they fly in an area around it. A Bombardier most commonly patrols near Marano Park, so that is a good area to search.
Spotters resemble small, flying drones and will quickly mark your position if they detect you. They are identified by a ring located around their drone and they fly in pairs.
Use cover and try to engage from range. You must destroy at least two Spotters for the quest, but you only need to collect one Spotter Relay. After killing them, approach the destroyed Spotters and loot for the Spotter Relay. Place it into your safe pocket if you have one available.
Once you have secured the Spotter Relay, your final task is to return to Speranza and deliver it to Shani. Successfully extracting with the relay completes the Combat Recon quest. Shani will reward you with:
- Firecrackers
- A Fireworks Box
- A Radio Renegade Outfit
