While you’re wandering around the maps in High On Life 2, you might come across various NPCs who offer you bits of dialogue, lore, and even might have a small task for you to complete. Talking to every NPC you can is the best way to ensure you’re completing every available activity, including becoming a taxi service so that you can unlock the Ball Gun.
The team at Squanch Games has a unique sense of humor, and one such side activity includes a troll that seems to be in the trolling mood, as it can freeze your game during the interaction.
Where To Find The Troll Under The Bridge Side Activity
Any time after you’ve unlocked the Circuit Arcadia map and can freely roam around, head to the central Plaza fast travel location to begin the Troll Under The Bridge side activity.
This side activity is completely unmarked, so you won’t see it on your map.
Go west and slightly north from the central fast travel location, slightly west of the central tower.
At the southwestern edge of the bridge, you’ll find a man asking for help — interact with him to start the side mission.
The man will tell you that he needs to find a troll, but he doesn’t want to look under the bridge himself, so he asks you to do it for him.
Before you go any further, the next part of the quest is known to be very glitchy and can freeze.
To avoid any issues with being trolled by the troll, make the game initiate a save by switching areas or collecting something, then immediately head back.
You should reload the last checkpoint if your game freezes or if the quest does not progress after Gus’s dialogue.
Peek over behind the dumpster under the bridge where you found the man, and you’ll find a green troll lurking around.
If the quest does not glitch, Gus will scream, and then the man will appear shortly after.
The screen blacks out, and the man thanks you for your help with his debauchery-filled exploits.
How To Fix The Troll Under The Bridge Freezing Glitch
If your game freezes here and the man doesn’t arrive, reload the checkpoint and try again.
The best thing you can do to help the quest is stand between the dumpster and the mattress to give the NPCs space for their interaction. Sometimes, this will help to progress the interaction.
It’s possible you may be stuck here until an update fixes this interaction.
To fix this stuck state, you can pull up the map to get out of your frozen position and continue moving and playing the game as normal.
If you exit the interaction by this method, returning to the area will lock your character again, as it attempts to play the glitched interaction.
If you get to this state, consider your quest fully bugged, unless you reload.
