The human invaders cause chaos and bring destruction wherever they go, so it’s up to you and the resistance to preserve the natural beauty and culture of the planet.
In the From the Ashes DLC, you’ll play as So’lek and experience first-hand what happens after the events of the main campaign. We’ll walk you through the introductory quest so you can fully immerse yourself into the world and defend against the RDA.
Follow The Smoke Trail
After meeting with the travelers, the Sarentu agrees to investigate the threat. Head down to the base of Hometree to meet them, and climb on back your ikran. Follow the Sarentu southeast to find the ruins of Weaver’s Flourish, completely turned to ash.

Investigating The Destroyed Weaver’s Flourish
Here, you’ll need to investigate three separate sites to complete your initial search. You can find them in the following places:
- Dead Direhorse. Strung up in the center of Weaver’s Flourish, it’s hard to miss this investigation point.
- Destroyed Sleeping Nook. To the left of the dead direhorse, you’ll find a smoldering sleeping nook you can search.
- Ransacked Na’vi Baskets. Further south, past the slope of the encampment, there are several baskets torn apart in the foliage.
Continue further southeast through the fallen log until you reach an unfamiliar symbol in the ashes. Slay the feral viperwolves, then investigate with the Sarentu.
Here, you and the Sarentu will split up to investigate both the fires and the signals coming from Teylan’s report. Continue east, flying on your ikran to go faster. Once you pass a flaming tree, still following the plumes of smoke, be prepared to fight.
Defeat The RDA
RDA forces are lurking in the woods, burning down foliage. There are two AMP pyro suits and a few footsoldiers flanking them. You can sneak up and take one of the AMP suits out, but the rest are likely to lead to open combat. Skulk in the shadows if you like, or take them out in ablaze of glory.
Enter The Destroyed Resistance HQ
Once you defeat the RDA, head east further until you find another symbol burning in the forest. Overlooking the cliffs, you’ll want to head north to find the ruins of the old resistance headquarters.
Beware the fire surrounding the entrance.
Land near the base and walk your way over to the caved-in roof. Drop down and investigate the site. In the southwest corner, there’s a dead feral viperwolf all tied up. Continue to crawl through the tunnel to the east, where you’ll find weapons made for Na’vi hands strung up on the wall.
Take the corridor north, where a fuse box lays dormant. Turn it on to power up the area. Take note of the machinery here, as it’s a precursor of what’s to come.
Grab the ammo by the door and the Dapophet pod, as RDA forces will surround the area momentarily.
Get ready to fight off Amp suits, ground units, and Hellhound Veteran Trackers. You can take out most of these units quietly with arrows before they spot you, but several waves of reinforcements will arrive to thwart you.
If you need space to retreat and regroup, take to the hidden tunnel behind the ramp where you exit the facility. There’s a small tunnel here that you can hide in while enemies search for you.
Once they’re dealt with, it’s time to regroup with the Sarentu.
Where To Find The Abandoned TAP Facility Entrance
To reach the abandoned TAP facility, head southeast to the overgrown entrance. When you get there, the Sarentu will give you instructions to go further up the cliffs. Reach them there while riding your ikran, then climb the rest of the way. Enter the facility with the Sarentu, then begin the trek to Mercer’s old office.
How To Get To Mercer’s Office
Use your melee skill to tear down the vines blocking the Ops Center entrance. Navigate down the stairs and long the ramp to an overgrown tunnel. Watch out for the poisonous bulbs here, as they emit toxic gas when you get too close.
You can shoot at the bulbs to cause them to burst earlier, just wait for the spores to clear before heading further in.
Enter the contamination doors, then make your way up the stairs to grab a TAP audio recording, then go down the stairs to the floor below the one you entered on. If you go to the flooded floor, you’ve gone too far–but you can retrieve extra ammo here.
Go through the open door to the Area B Loading Bay, then follow the Sarentu across the crumbling TAP infrastructure. You’ll come to a locked door that needs the power restored. Rather than look for a fuse box, you’ll need to go swimming.
Dive into the water and swim through the gaping open hole bubbling at the far end of the facility. Swim south through the gap and to the other side, where emergency doors are locked. Break to vent to the left of the door and crawl through to the maintenance room.
Make sure to come up for air so you don’t drown!
Turn on the power, then head back down through the tunnels. To get back up to the Sarentu, take the underwater door that just opened and follow the pathway to a ruined platform in a flooded room. Follow the Sarentu, then dive into the water and wait for them to open the sealed door for you.
Continue through the corridor, then come up for air in the next room. Swim back down and to the right where there’s a plume of bubbles leading into another area. Climb up on the wreckage and crawl through the vents.
You can pop into the cantina here for another TAP recording and some extra ammo.
In the cryo room, you’ll need to use your melee attack to break down the vines blocking the path forward. Beware a feral viperwolf as it busts through the glass window and attacks. More ammo and another TAP recording are within the room, so grab them before you proceed to the end of the hall, shrouded in flames.
You can drop down through the vent to navigate around the fire, but instead, take the door to the right and grab another TAP recording. Climb up through the wreckage and proceed towards Mercer’s office.

Enter classroom one, where you’ll find a broken TV with Alma and her avatar displayed on it. Proceed through the doors to a room where the water is live with electricity.
Turn towards the broken office window and use one of your weapons to shoot the fuse box within. Now that the water is safe, you can cross to the other side.
Step inside the office to grab more ammo and another recording!
Enter the control operations center and destroy the fusebox within, then go through the now open doors to the dormitories. You’ll be separated from the Sarentu here, so climb up into the rafters and make your way towards the gym.
Enter the research cell to destroy the gym’s fuse box, then head back to the hallway and go to the end where there’s a wealth of foliage. Break through the vines and take the stairs down into the gym, then cross the poisonous vines to reach the stairs and locked door where the Sarentu awaits you.
To grab another TAP recording, climb up into the overhead office!
Walk down to the end of the hall to finally enter John Mercer’s old office, where a lengthy cutscene is triggered. Afterwards, leave the facility and return home to complete the quest!
