Winter in Phasmophobia has a habit of turning cozy nights into something far more unsettling, and Winter’s Jest 2025 is no exception. As snow settles across haunted homes and familiar locations, Krampus returns to remind Ghost Hunters that the holidays aren’t always kind.
This seasonal event puts a festive spin on investigations. With rotating maps, limited-time mechanics, and community-wide progress on the line, Winter’s Jest asks you to do more than just identify a ghost and leave. This guide breaks down how the event fits into your investigations, what to look out for as you explore, and how to make the most of the rewards waiting at the end of the hunt.
How Does The Winter’s Jest Event Work?
Winter’s Jest is Phasmophobia’s 2025 holiday event, which runs from December 16 at 12pm GMT until January 6 at 12pm GMT. The event is built around shared community progression, which means every investigation completed on an active event map contributes toward unlocking limited-time rewards for all players.
Only select locations count during the event, and these maps rotate daily. Snow-covered versions of familiar locations like: Nell’s Diner, Tanglewood Drive, Ridgeview Court, Willow Street, Bleasdale Farmhouse, Maple Lodge Campsite, Camp Woodwind, and Point Hope. They are marked on your location board with a red present icon.
You can replay these maps as often as you like, and any successful investigation on them will push event progress forward.
While the core gameplay remains the same, identify the ghost, complete objectives, and survive, Winter’s Jest adds in additional mechanics tied directly to event progression, including Krampus’ Presents and Jack-in-the-Boxes.

How To Find Krampus’ Presents?
At the entrance of every Winter’s Jest map, you’ll find Krampus’s sack along with a Naughty and Nice list. This list displays small icons representing presents that are hidden throughout the location.
Your goal is to locate these presents during the investigation and throw the correct ones into Krampus’ sack. Each successful delivery contributes event points that are tallied once the investigation ends. Presents can be found scattered across rooms on the map, and multiple copies of the same present may spawn in different areas.
If you complete it, you’ll get a present full of bonus investigation equipment, such as Incense and Sanity Pills.
It’s important to match the present to the list exactly, as placing the wrong item into the sack will anger Krampus. When that happens, the sack fills with coal and can no longer accept presents for the rest of the investigation.
Here are the possible presents located around each map:

What Are Jack-In-The-Boxes?
Jack-in-the-Boxes act as another way to earn event points. These red boxes spawn in locations across Winter’s Jest maps, though their presence isn’t guaranteed in every investigation.
When you interact with one, it begins a short, random countdown before popping open and delivering a scare before disappearing. Triggering a Jack-in-the-Box rewards event points, but only if you successfully finish the investigation without dying.
What Are The Winter Jest Event Points And Rewards?
Event points are the currency that drives Winter’s Jest progression. You earn them by correctly identifying the ghost, completing optional objectives, interacting with Jack-in-the-Boxes, delivering Krampus’ presents, and playing on higher difficulties.
You can check your points at the Bulletin Board in the game’s lobby.
These points fill both community and personal progress gauges on the event board. Community goals unlock rewards for everyone once enough total points are earned, while personal goals track your individual contributions and unlock additional cosmetics and trophy upgrades.
The rewards are:
- Winters Jest ’25 ID Card
- Upgraded Foil ID Card
