As you explore the fishing village of Uxantis, you’ll come across various NPCs with side quests, but these are only available if you interact with them. One of these GreedFall: The Dying World side quests will be from a sailor who has lost his son after an argument.
The Like Father Like Son side quest will take you from the Foreigner’s Quarters to the woodlands on the outskirts of the town. Here is everything you need to know about completing this quest and finding Telmo’s son, Diogo.
How To Find Diogo In GreedFall: The Dying World
Near the docks in the Foreigner’s Quarters, a man in a red beret is pacing up and down, looking worried. If you approach him, you can speak to him about his problem. He tells you that his son has been missing after an argument, and he doesn’t know where he is.
You have three things to ask him about, and you should select each one to find out clues to the young man’s location:
- Ask him if Diogo has a place he likes to go.
- Ask him if Diogo has any friends he could have met.
- Ask him what they argued about.
You find out that their argument was about Diogo not wanting to be a naut, despite the family having deep ancestral ties to sailing. Telmo also says his son has a glassblower friend who has a stall in Admiral Square, and that the boy often leaves the city to explore the wilderness, but he doesn’t know where exactly.
Your next stop is the glassblower at Admiral Square, except this is not marked on the map, so use the location on themap above to find your way there. Admirals’ Square is to the east of Captains’ Square and to the southeast of Market Square. The glassblower, Guilherme, is at his stall.
After speaking to Guilherme, you learn that Diogo likes to be out in nature and is usually found at a “beautiful arch crafted by nature”, which is found northeast of the town. You’ll need to look for an arch just before a rope bridge.
It is important to ask Guilherme the other questions to get more information about why the boy and his father argued, as you use this info in a later conversation with Telmo.
Next, head northeast to the Uxantis Countryside fast travel point, and enter the Underbrush. From there, head northeast and cross a stream to find a stone arch to the left of a rope bridge. Head under the arch to enter the Peninsula area.
You will encounter some Monkey Workers, and Blinding and Rabid Majida, which you must fight off before approaching Diogo. You can either tell him the truth, that his father sent you, or lie and tell him the captain sent you to find him. Either way, he will tell you how he feels, ask for your help to convince his father to allow him to stay on dry land, and then meet you back in town.
When you speak with Telmo, you can use the information you learned from the glassblower to try to convince him that glassblowing is a worthy career for Diogo.
When you complete the quest, you receive +2 Reputation for the Nauts, and a second mate’s peacoat if you can successfully convince Telmo to let his son be a glassblower.
