How To Find And Use Meteorite Hearts In StarRupture

When you initially start playing StarRupture, the game will ask you if you want to go through a tutorial or not. One of the first things you’ll do in this tutorial is get a Meteorite Heart since it’s a major component to build anything on Arcadia-7. Unfortunately, you can’t quite farm Meteorite Heart like other ore materials.

Instead, you’ll have to actively look out for these as you’re exploring the planet. Thankfully, it isn’t particularly hard to get them once you know where to look, which is good because you’ll need a ton of them once you progress through the game and reach the later parts where you require base upgrades.

StarRupture is currently released in Early Access, and the contents of this article is subject to change.

Where To Find Meteorite Hearts

To get yourself a Meteorite Heart in StarRupture, you’ll first have to find a meteorite on Arcadia-7 and these aren’t too rare once you know the places where you should look for them. These meteorites can easily be identified from a distance by looking for a bit of white smoke coming out of a giant rock.

Once you see one of these rocks, you can get close to it and use your mining tool to destroy it. Each meteorite you destroy gives you one or more Meteorite Hearts, but they take quite a while to destroy. To make this process faster, you can look for different types of ore inside the meteorite. These get destroyed faster and give your mining tool a stack, increasing its mining efficiency.

The mining stacks are temporary, and they’ll slowly go away if you’re not using your mining tool for a few seconds.

Meteorites are the most common in flat open areas, but you can also sometimes find them on mountains. After every wave, these meteorites get reset and you can usually find them in the same locations again.

If you want to make it big in StarRupture, you’ll have to find a way to locate and extract all five ores in the game.

How To Use Meteorite Hearts

StarRupture meteorite heart requirement to upgrade the base.

There are two main uses for Meteorite Hearts, and both of them are related to your base core, which is the component you need to place any other building except for the rails:

  • You can use one Meteorite Heart to place a base core at any eligible location, which will then let you build things around it. The base core can’t be placed too close to an Abandoned Base or other landmarks around the map like the monoliths or underground caves.
  • Meteorite Heart can also be used to upgrade any specific Base Core to subsequent levels, which also takes a ton of other materials. Be careful while doing this though, as you’ll have a massive horde of aliens attack you during the upgrade process.

StarRupture features quite a big open world, and one of the main dangers of the game is the regular waves of star rupture. If this happens when you’re far away from your base, you can’t protect yourself unless you’re prepared. Hence, you should always have at least one Meteorite Heart and around 1,000 Basic Building Materials in your inventory while exploring.

This will help you create a quick habitat that you can use to prevent all the damage from the wave and survive.
