How To Find All Monoliths In StarRupture

How To Find All Monoliths In StarRupture

Sci-Fi survival game StarRupture tasks players with scaling an alien world mixed with hostile creatures, rocky terrain, and environmental hazards, ready to end your exploration before it really begins. As well as discovering new resources, you’ll also come across strange stones you won’t be able to interact with.

Monoliths are obelisk-shaped pillars, surrounded by small, floating rocks. Try as you might, you won’t be able to attack or mine these pillars, but you’ll notice lots of them around Arcadia-7. See below to find out where to find them and what they’re for.

Where To Find Monoliths

Monoliths are scattered around the main area of Arcadia-7. While they also branch out beyond the radiation ring surrounding the central zone, many of these can’t be discovered in the game’s early access. However, they should open up with further updates. Monoliths have no set location or area they appear in; they really are everywhere.

While there isn’t any active benefit from setting up a base near a Monolith (as they don’t provide you with information or resources), it is helpful to keep an eye on your closest one as you level up your Base Core. If you’d like to find a Monolith, look around areas rich in ore or resources, meteorites, and rocky mountain-like terrain. There are 35 in the main map area, and the outer area before you hit the heart of the radiated zone.

Monoliths emit radiation – even after a Rupture.

How To Use A Monolith

A activated Monolith in StarRupture.

A Monolith doesn’t offer any resources, and while there is lore surrounding them, you don’t learn it from the pillars themselves. The purpose of Monoliths is to act as a sort of ‘antenna’ for spawning enemies after you upgrade your Base Core. You’ll want to upgrade each Base Core at important sites to ensure that your operations continue to run smoothly after attacks or ruptures.

Each upgrade will require different resources, but it’s important to remember that after you’ve leveled up, a mass of enemies will spawn at a Monolith near you. This won’t be a small swarm; it will be hundreds of different enemy types across multiple waves. When you upgrade, the AI voiceover will alert you to unusual activity, and you can track how strong the enemy invasion is via the meter on the right-hand side. When the lines settle, you know you’re almost out of the woods.

Be sure to build as many defenses as possible before upgrading the Base Core. This will help keep the invasion away from your equipment, especially if you’re playing solo.
