If you’ve spent any time rummaging through Arc Raiders’ scrap piles, you’ve probably noticed that Fried Motherboards aren’t exactly growing on trees. They’re the kind of loot that always seems to show up right after you don’t need it, or disappear the moment you do.
Tracking these things down can feel like chasing a glitch in the system. The good news is that they do spawn in predictable places: you just need to know where to look. If you’re ready to stop relying on luck and start farming efficiently, here’s everything you need to know to get your hands on more Fried Motherboards.
How To Farm Fried Motherboards
Fried Motherboards are a rare salvageable item in Arc Raiders. They’re required to upgrade your Utility Station, and each one you recycle breaks down into two Electrical Components and five Plastic Parts. Because they’re used in multiple crafting pathways, it’s worth knowing exactly where they’re most likely to appear.
Your best bet is to search in Technological zones on any map, which are marked on your map with a small wrench icon. These areas usually contain machinery, server racks, and other high-tech debris, which give them a higher chance of spawning Fried Motherboards when you breach and loot containers. While they can appear in multiple regions, certain spots are significantly more reliable than others.
The most consistent location is a small structure on the Dam Battlegrounds map, just east of Water Treatment Control. This building is easy to overlook, but inside you’ll find six breachable server cabinets lined along the walls. Because each cabinet has a chance to drop a Fried Motherboard, running this location repeatedly is one of the fastest ways to farm them.
Clear the area of Raiders, breach every cabinet you see, and you’ll usually walk away with enough motherboards to keep your Utility Station upgrades moving.
