How Resetti’s Reset Service Works In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Messy island layouts happen to the best of us. One minute you are confidently placing furniture and fencing, and the next your island looks like a storage unit exploded across the beach. Animal Crossing: New Horizons offers plenty of creative freedom, but undoing big design decisions can feel surprisingly tedious. That is where Resetti steps in with one of the most helpful quality-of-life features in the game.

Resetti’s Reset Service gives you an easier way to clean up island clutter and rethink large decorating projects without hours of manual work. If you have ever wished for a reset button that does not erase your progress, this guide breaks down exactly how the service works and why it is worth knowing.

How To Unlock Resetti’s Reset Service

To unlock Resetti’s Reset Service, you first need to encounter Resetti wandering around your island. He appears as a roaming NPC, so you will need to track him down and speak with him directly. During this initial conversation, Resetti explains how his service works and what kinds of island changes he can undo.

Using Resetti’s Reset Service costs 60,000 Bells. Once the fee is paid, the service can be used an unlimited number of times for the rest of the day. After your first encounter with Resetti, you no longer need to find him wandering around. Instead, the service can be accessed by speaking with Isabelle at the Resident Services building.

The first use of his service is free.

How Does Resetti’s Reset Service Work?

Resetti’s Reset Service allows you to reset specific parts of your island or the entire island at once. This includes beaches, both sandy and rocky areas, and standard land tiles.

The service removes decorative objects such as:

  • Furniture
  • Fencing
  • Ladders
  • Dropped items
  • Other placed objects

Any items Resetti removes are safely transferred into your home storage, so make sure you have enough space there.

There are some important limitations to keep in mind. Resetti does not remove anything that is buried or planted in the ground. Trees, bushes, crops, weeds, and other terrain-based elements remain untouched.

However, you can optionally choose to have planted flowers and custom design paths reset at the same time as furniture and fencing, which gives you more control over how much of the island is cleared.

How To Use The Transceiver

If you only want to clear a small portion of your island rather than everything, Resetti provides a Transceiver. To use it, go to the desired location, open your inventory, select the Transceiver, and choose ‘Call him over’. This highlights a small area of roughly 7×7 tiles.

Before confirming the reset, you will be shown a preview of the selected area, which allows you to double-check exactly what will be removed before locking it in.
