Highguard wasn’t doing well anyway, and fans feared the worst when its website went down and concept art was being shared by devs. However, it seems the game is alive and… maybe not well, just alive. However it is getting a whole bunch of new content in an update later this week. Looks like the devs aren’t giving up on it just yet.
The update will add a new base, a new raid tool and a bunch of new items in the store in case you feel like spending some money on the game. This includes a change in how many items Trader Flyn offers, new mounts, and new skins.
Highguard Is Still Getting New Content
The biggest addition of this update is the Cloudreach base. “A fortified airship hangar that the Iron Vigil uses for repair and resupply into Highguard,” says the blog post. It will feature a massive airship docked in the air above the hangar, with an Anchor Stone in its cargo hold. The deck of the airship acts as a great vantage point for defending snipers.
The generator buildings feature vents above them, which allow defenders to toss grenades at attackers to flush them out. It features three bomb planting points: one at the front and two on either side of the base. They are located in a way which encourages a fight across the entire base.
A new raid tool called the Lockpick will also be added with the update. It sounds like a pretty helpful tool that lets you shoot darts at doors and windows, giving your team temporary control over them while locking the enemy out. You’ll have to look for ammo in chests and supply barrels, or from Trader Flynn.
As for the new store items, Trader Flynn will offer seven items instead of the usual five. Some items from the previous week will repeat in case you missed them. New mounts include Moonbruins, which are essentially Owlbears, and Iron Vigil-themed cosmetics for your crew.
