A reliable insider has claimed that Fable is likely going to launch on PS5, as well as explaining why Forza Horizon 6 isn’t getting the same treatment.
Ever since Xbox started bringing all of its biggest exclusives to other consoles, it’s been easy to assume that all of its first-party games were eventually going to launch day one on PS5. That assumption was surprisingly proven wrong earlier this year when Forza Horizon 6 was announced, as Xbox quickly confirmed that a PS5 port would instead be coming at a later date.
With some games, like Halo Campaign Evolved, launching day one on PS5 and others missing the mark, the whole situation has put some doubt on whether one of Xbox’s biggest exclusives, Fable, would be coming to PS5 at launch. It looks like Playground isn’t doubling up on missing a cross-platform launch, though, as Fable will reportedly come to PlayStation day one.
Fable Is Reportedly Coming To PS5 At Launch
Forza Horizon 6 “Just Wasn’t Ready”
As pointed out by ResetEra user modiz, VGC recently did its annual predictions for the gaming year to come on the latest episode of the VGC Podcast. One of the topics focused on in the video is Xbox’s upcoming Developer Direct, which will focus on Fable, Forza Horizon 6, Beast of Reincarnation, and a smaller first-party title.

Fable Could Be The Biggest PS5 Game Of 2026
With its recent delay, Microsoft is no doubt making some big plans for Fable.
Jordan Middler brings up the fact that Forza Horizon 6 isn’t going to launch day one on PS5 and asks whether that might be the same case for Fable, considering it’s from the same team. In response, VGC’s editor-in-chief Andy Robinson says that he’s been told that Fable is “day and date”, meaning that it’ll come to PS5 at the same time as Xbox.
As for Forza Horizon 6 not launching day-one on PS5, Robinson reports that he’s heard it “just wasn’t ready” for its planned PS5 port.
Robinson went on to point out that these plans could change at any point and that, for now, he can just “imagine” it’s planned to launch on PS5 at the same time. Playground has reportedly been targeting a PS5 launch for Fable for “a while”, making it more likely that it manages to release on multiple consoles at launch. With big news for Fable coming in just over a week, we’ll likely find out for sure very soon.
