Fable Fans Are Sharing Their Favorite NPCs They Married

Fable Fans Are Sharing Their Favorite NPCs They Married

Last month, Xbox gave us a good look at the new Fable, which will be coming out this Autumn. It was a great dive into the gameplay, which revealed all the Fable mechanics that we’ve come to expect from the series. You can become a landlord, kick chickens around, and get dressed up, but a big deal was made out of the fact that you can shack up with and marry any of the game’s many, many NPCs.

Getting married, making a family, and then subsequently forgetting about them and abandoning them is a quintessential part of Fable, and it’s such a common experience that pretty much everyone in the fanbase has their own favorite NPC that they like to hook up with. Thanks to the recent gameplay deep dive into the new Fable, fans have now been reminiscing on their Fable flings.

Fable Fans Are Sharing Their Favorite NPCs They Married

On the Fable subreddit earlier this week, a user called Eat_Ur_Veggies revealed that when they were a child, they used to marry the same Bowerstone NPC again and again, seemingly smitten by this one woman. It’s kinda wholesome, but it prompted many to start sharing their own favorite marriages from back when they were playing.

The player prepares to do battle with a giant cockatrice in Fable.

It’s Official – The Fable Reboot Is Not Part Of The Original Trilogy, And It’s Dropping Multiplayer

Fable is officially leaving the original trilogy behind, as the reboot tells its own story.

For example, a user called RuairiJHB simply says that it’s “Lady Grey or bust” for them, which is a choice that I can absolutely respect. Even the OP claimed that Lady Grey was their “teenage choice” to marry, while a user called NotSynthx says that she’s “so hot I can excuse her human right violations.” I guess some people can get past anything as long as someone is hot enough.

Then you have the more interesting marriage choices, as a user called Elite8niner says that they exclusively used to marry prostitutes in Fable 2, literally because they love the idea of a prostitute becoming the Queen. There are also a few deviants that admit that they try to go for all the women of the night they can, but I suppose it wouldn’t be Fable without some deviancy.

As an example, a user called JiggleTheBiggles (name checks out) explains that they always married the barber in Bowerstone South in the original Fable, quite literally because of their two large assets. They then explain that they had to break into their house in the dead of night — after getting them to fall in love with them — to be able to marry them, and that right there is a love story you could only ever hear come out of a Fable game. Here’s hoping the new game throws up some wacky romances too.
