Expedition 33 Adds New NPC To The Gestral Village

Hot off its record-shattering number of wins at The Game Awards 2025, including the most prestigious of ‘em all with Game of the Year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is finding ways to shine ever brighter in the minds of millions of fans.

Sandfall Interactive has been nothing short of exemplary in making sure to credit its hard-working staff for their every developmental action, and as part of that much-appreciated appraisal, they’ve referenced numerous fellow JRPGs in the game’s latest update. From Persona 5, to Final Fantasy 14, and even my beloved Xenoblade Chronicles, there’s plenty to enjoy. But there’s also a touching addition on the dev side.

Meet Alicenisa

Gestral Village is, of course, quite the eclectic place in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It just grew a touch more so, as the guitar-enthusiastic Lorieniso – so named for Clair Obscur composer Lorien Testard – has a newfound friend with Alicenisa. As it just so happens, Alicenisa is named after the game’s lead vocalist, Alice Duport-Percier.

Eagle-eyed fans made the catch in short order, and the Reddit post that showed off Alicenisa’s cool personage has hit 2.2k upvotes and counting. It just goes to show, for all the negativity that’s nigh-inherent to internet gaming discourse, there are millions of us who prefer to give our attention to feel-good moments like this one. Sandfall continues to put its big-earnings money where it’s mouth is, so to speak, by showcasing the talents of its passionate individual developers.

If you’d prefer to feel not so good, you can now go get your arse kicked by an even harder Simon. Don’t worry, though – some players have already bested him without taking any damage whatsoever. Because of course they have. Grumble-grumble… I’m so much worse at this game’s action elements than half the people I know. (Maybe I can blame my setup?)

Turns out, nobody found it because it’s impossible to trigger right now.
