PlayStation Plus used to be a subscription service that got you a few free games every month and access to other titles’ online features. Needing to come up with something that looked a little more like Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation shook things up in 2022 and introduced a tiered PS Plus system. Now there are three options to choose from: Essential, Extra, and Premium.
Each tier costs more than the last, but paying more will get you access to more features and a bigger library of games. Essential is the same as the old PS Plus. The cheapest option which lets you play online and gets you a handful of free games every month to sweeten the deal.

As well as a second pack that’s only available on PlayStation.
Extra and Premium are the tiers that grant you access to entire libraries of games from PlayStation’s recent and distant past. Extra opens up a library of PS4 and PS5 games you can download and play for the price of your subscription. Premium includes everything you get with Extra plus access to PlayStation’s classics library as well as demos for various new games. Fresh games are added to each tier every month, and below you’ll find what you’ll get throughout November, regardless of the tier you’re subscribed to, as well as links to where you can upgrade your subscription or sign up if you don’t currently have PS Plus.

If you’re signed up to Essential then on the first Tuesday of every month you’ll have three, somethimes four, games to claim and keep every month. Those games will remain playable and in your library for as long as you have an active PS Plus subscription. Don’t worry, if your subscription lapses, those games will once again be available whenever you choose to sign up again.
The Essential headliner for November is Stray. Those who have had PS Plus for a while might be confused right now because yes, Stray has been available through Plus before. From launch, in fact. However, it was only available to those who have Extra or Premium. Now it’s coming to Essential with the added bonus that if it ever leaves Extra, which games often tend to do, you’ll still have it if you claim it through Essential.
Joining Stray on Essential this month is EA Sports WRC 24, perfect for racing game fans who want to take the latest Rally Championship game for a spin, and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. If you’re not familiaer with TABS’ wobblers, acquaint yourself without having to pay for the privilege from November 4.

Extra subscribers get the free offerings each month, just like those with Essential, alongside access to a library of PS5 and PS4 games. Titles come and go all the time, and we now know the eight new games that will be added to the library this November, and one of them is a big returning title.
That big returning title is GTA 5. Soften the blow of Rockstar kicking GTA 6’s release date another six months down the road by returning to the streets of Los Santos without having to buy a copy of the game. GTA 5 coming to PS Plus has become an annual tradition at this point. This will mark the third time it has been added to the Extra library and, if the pattern repeats, it will leave Extra again six months from now.
As exciting as that is, make sure you don’t sleep on some of the other games coming to Extra this month. Most notably, Thank Goodness You’re Here, the “comedy slapformer” that stole people’s hearts last year but didn’t get nearly the amount of praise and attention it deserved. Pacific Drive is another game that flew under the radar somewhat that deserves your time when it joins Extra on November 18, as is the fantastic Still Wakes The Deep.

The top tier of PS Plus is Premium. Alongside the Essential games and access to Extra’s library, you also have a collection of older games at your disposal courtesy of the Classics Catalog, among other things. However, Premium subscribers are starting to get concerned about the rate at which older games are being added.
PlayStation has been adding a single game to its Premium tier for a while now, and November’s solitary offering is Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Granted, it’s a good one, and a Tomb Raider game that fans of the series have been hoping would become easier to access and play in the modern era. It follows in the footsteps of Tekken 3 being the only game added to Premium in October. Again, a good one, but one game per month might not be enough for a lot of people.
You’re also able to buy these games separately if you don’t have Premium once they’ve been added to PS Plus.
Before you downgrade to Extra, there was some very good news for Premium subscribers who own a PlayStation Portal this month. The PS5’s companion handheld now supports cloud streaming for thousands of games. That means you no longer need your PS5 to play games on the Portal. You can stream games anywhere, as long as you have a strong wifi connection, and the PS5 can be used for other things, provided the user is signed into a different account.

Whenever more games are added to Extra and Premium’s PS Plus libraries, other games that have been available through those libraries for a while have to make way. Thankfully, we’re given a little bit of warning as to which games will be leaving, and November’s list of games leaving PS Plus has been revealed. If you were planning on playing through Like A Dragon: Ishin, or Battlefield 6 has got you wanting to go back and play some Battlefield 5, do it now before those games, and the others listed above, leave PS Plus and you have to pay for the privilege.
