Slay The Spire 2 is a Roguelite game where your main gameplay is to first choose one of the characters, and then go through a randomized path until you reach the end of an act and face the final boss. Each act has a final boss that you can see, but the path you take will be different every time.
One of the most exciting parts of this randomized feature is that you can get a ton of events by entering specific domains during your run. These events can sometimes give you game-winning boosts, while other times, they can completely ruin your run. Hence, it’s important to know each event properly before you make a choice in it.
This article is a work in progress, and we’ll add more events as we face them during our runs.
How To Get Events In Slay The Spire 2
When you look at the map of Slay The Spire 2, you’ll only notice five types of rooms other than the boss room: Unknown, Merchant, Treasure, Rest, Enemy, and Elite. There is no specific event room, which is mostly because a lot of these events can provide strong buffs, and the game wouldn’t give you that without any risks.
Hence, the only way to get events is by going into the Unknown domains. However, when you go into these domains, there’s a chance that you can get any other type of room as well, except the final boss room. You’re essentially rolling a dice, and if you get unlucky, you might have to fight through a strong Elite.
If you get the Juzu Bracelet relic during your run, you won’t get normal enemy combat rooms in the Unknown domain.
Generally, the event rooms have the highest chance of spawning whenever you enter an Unknown domain.
Slay The Spire 2: Best Builds And Relics For The Regent
Here is everything you need to know about one of The Regent’s best builds in Slay the Spire 2.
All Events You Can Get
Slay The Spire 2 has a lot of events that you can randomly encounter in these rooms, and they can get quite overwhelming. Hence, here’s a list of all the events you can get and the best choice to make in them:
|
Event Name |
Choices |
Best Choice |
|---|---|---|
|
Amalgamator |
Remove 2 Strikes to add an Ultimate Strike Remove 2 Defends to add an Ultimate Defend |
The first option here is generally better since you’d want to remove the Strike cards from your deck anyway, and this lets you have a better version while doing that. |
|
Battleworn Dummy |
Fight the dummy at different HPs for different rewards |
During combat, this dummy doesn’t attack back, but you need to defeat it in three turns for the reward. You should choose the option based on your build. |
|
Bugslayer |
Add Exterminate or Squash to your deck |
The choice here depends on your build. If you’d rather have AoE damage, go for Exterminate, otherwise you can pick Squash for a better single-target fight. |
|
Byrdonis Nest |
Gain 7 Max HP Take the Byrdonis Egg card |
If you’re in the early run, taking the egg is undoubtedly the best choice here. You can hatch it at a rest site to have a summon with you in battle that can deal massive damage without using any energy. However, if you’re towards the end of your run and there are no rest sites on your way, then you can take the max HP increase for the final boss fight. |
|
Dense Vegetation |
Remove a card in exchange for 11 HP Heal 19 HP but fight some enemies |
If you have some HP to spare, the first option is the better one here. |
|
Doll Room |
Pick a Doll Relic at random or lose some HP to choose one |
The choice here is completely yours, and it depends on how much HP you have to spare. |
|
Field of Man-Sized Holes |
Remove 2 cards but add Normality to your Deck Enchant any card with Perfect Hit |
Both the options here are pretty good, and you should decide based on your current deck and play style. |
|
Morphic Grove |
Lose 100 gold to transform 2 cards Gain 5 Max HP |
Generally, the second option is the better one here since if you lose gold to transform cards, you can get unlucky and end up with worse cards than you started with. However, if you have less than 100 gold, you can try your luck at the first option. |
|
Room Full of Cheese |
Choose 2 out of 8 cards Lose 14 HP to get the Chosen Cheese |
If you’re at the start of the run and have enough HP to spare, the second option is better for longevity. Otherwise, you can go for the first option. |
|
Sapphire Seed |
Heal 9 HP and upgrade a card Enchant a card with Sown |
The sown effect gives you extra energy when you play the enchanted card for the first time in combat, which can be useful for certain builds. However, healing and upgrading a card is generally the better option here. |
|
Self-Help Book |
Enchant an attack card with Sharp 2 Enchant a Skill card with Nimble 2 Enchant a Power card with Swift 2 |
The choice for this is completely up to you, since each enchantment does different things. In general, you’d likely want to choose either the Sharp or the Nimble enchantment. |
|
Slippery Bridge |
A card is removed from your deck Lose some HP to randomize the removed card |
The thing to remember with this event is that you have to choose the first option regardless. Even if you lose HP to randomize the card, it’ll place a new card there. This means that you can keep rerolling the card you lose until you have a suitable one as long as you’re okay with losing the HP. |
|
Symbiote |
Enchant an attack card with Corrupted Transform a card |
The choice in this event depends on your playthrough. If you’re already struggling to keep your HP up, you should go for the transform option. However, if you’re already experienced enough or are playing certain builds, you can get the Corrupted enchantment to make a broken card. |
|
Table of Truth |
Lose 3 max HP to upgrade a random card Heal 20 HP |
As long as you’re not super low, the first option is generally the better one here since it lets you complete a rest action for a bit of your max HP. |
|
The Legends Were True |
Receive a map Lose HP to get a random potion |
In this event, the first option is almost always the better one, though it does add a useless card to your deck. |
|
The Sunken Statue |
Get the Sword of Stone Get 115 gold in exchange for 7 HP |
If you think you can defeat five elites in this run, the Sword of Stone is by far the better option. Though that’s not possible in most of your early-game runs. |
|
The Trial |
Add Regret to your deck Add Guilt to your deck |
For this event, you’ll get fewer rewards for choosing Shame, but it’s also the better option for a long-lasting run as it gives you Frail instead of making you lose HP. However, you’d want to get to a merchant and remove this card from your deck as soon as possible. If a merchant is close by, you can also choose Regret to get better rewards. |
|
This or That? |
Lose 6 HP to gain 48 gold Add Clumsy and get a random relic |
The second option is undoubtedly more worthwhile for this event as a Relic can be much more expensive than 48 gold. |
|
Wellspring |
Get a random potion Remove one card to get Guilty for 5 combats |
Guilty is just an unplayable card that takes the space in your deck and hand during combat, but it’s worth trading for a card removal if you have a troublesome card in your deck. |
|
Whispering Hollow |
Lose 50 gold to get 2 random potions Lose 9 HP to transform a card |
Since card transformation is very RNG-based, you should mostly always choose the first option here unless you’re full on potions. |
