Elden Ring’s Fire Giant Has Been Beaten At Level 1 With Only Bare Fists

I remember the first time I faced Elden Ring’s Fire Giant. It sucked. Or more specifically, I sucked. I’m not sure why I struggled so much, but it was the first and only time I’d considered quitting the game, never to return. Run after run, the hulking beast sent me to an early grave. I even thought about using the cheese in which he ran off a cliff and killed himself, but I persevered, and I won.

My second playthrough was far, far more comfortable, and I beat the boss on my first attempt, looking back at past me, wondering what I was doing.

Despite finding it easier on subsequent playthroughs, I could never, ever imagine tackling the boss at Rune Level 1. I could also never imagine tackling it with bare fists. Combining the two: unfathomable. But that’s not stopped one player, who has, for the first time ever (presumably, as nobody else would be stupid enough to attempt this), beaten the Fire Giant at RL1, using only bare fists.

YouTuber Fracture42 is on a mission. A mission to beat as many, if not all, Elden Ring bosses at RL1 using just bare fists for offense.

Before Fire Giant, they’d managed 38 bosses. These included many of the Elden Lords, like Margit, Godrick, Godfrey, Radahn, and Mohg, alongside some of the game’s other major tests, such as Commander Niall and the Draconic Tree Sentinel. The Fire Giant was a completely different challenge, though.

With Its DLC On The Horizon, Fewer Than Half Of Players Have Vanquished All Of Elden Ring Nightreign’s Nightlords

Night Aspect is proving the most difficult.

Fracture shared that they last attempted the feat in February 2024, but it proved so difficult that they put it off for another two years, until now. They used three sets of equipment to help them survive the boss’s three phases, and the battle of endurance lasted a whopping 7 hours and 28 minutes (!!)

When I first saw the 7-hour+ video, I assumed it was a chronicling of all of their attempts. It was, in fact, just a single fight.

A combination of 14 Flasks of Crimson Tears, Shadow of the Erdtree’s Blessed Blue Dew Talisman, and the Bestial Vitality spell were the only healing tools they had at their disposal, and they heavily insinuated that the Fire Giant’s Flame Breath attack was the biggest hurdle.

I don’t know whether I’m more impressed by the fact that they managed to beat the boss at Level 1 with only fists, or that they persevered through a boss fight that took over seven hours. Whichever it is, fair play to Fracture42.
