All four Avengers: Doomsday teasers are now officially out in the world for everyone to see. All that’s left to do now is wait for what should end up being the MCU’s biggest movie yet to hit theaters at the end of this year. If you’re struggling to find ways to pass all that time, there’s now an official Doomsday clock on YouTube counting down to the movie’s release.
Each of the four teasers has ended on a clock counting down to Dr. Doom’s arrival in the MCU, his brief appearance during the credits of Fantastic Four: First Steps not included. That clock has, naturally, been inaccurate as it wasn’t a live look. That’s where this YouTube video differs, as it is an accurate countdown, right down to the second, ticking away as we inch closer to Doomsday’s arrival.
You Can Now Check In On The Countdown To Doomsday Whenever You Like
The clock went live on Tuesday, and as I type this, there are 11 months, three days, 16 hours, 17 minutes, and 34 seconds to go until Robert Downey Jr. returns to the MCU to wreak havoc as its most dastardly villain yet, seven years after sacrificing himself as Iron Man to save half of all life in the universe.
Even though there’s still almost a year to go on Marvel’s Doomsday clock, there are currently more than 1,000 of you diligently watching it tick down. I’d like to assume that most of those 1,056 people are, like myself, Marvel fans discovering the official Doomsday clock, checking in, and then leaving again. However, I’m sure there are some of you who, although you hopefully won’t sit there and watch it until December, will at the very least have a tab open with the live clock counting down in real time for the next 11 months.
You probably should keep watching and refuse to look away if you have the time. What if there’s a surprise or an easter egg that the rest of the world misses?
So Far, The Build To Doomsday Has Involved A Lot Of Watching Uneventful Videos
The launch of a YouTube live stream that will have been running for almost a year by the time it’s done continues a trend of Doomsday marketing being anchored in Marvel fans watching drawn-out videos that don’t really show much at all. The first core information we were told about Doomsday came via a video that slowly panned across a row of on-set chairs, each with the name of a well-known MCU actor printed on it.
There is one more cinematic stop on the road to Doomsday, and that is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will be released this summer. Between that and Doomsday, two weeks into the year, it’s already all but confirmed that, unlike 2025, there will be Marvel movies in the top ten highest-grossing films of the year at the box office.
