Daredevil Joins the Fight in Marvel Rivals’ “Heart of the Dragon” Mid-Season Update

NetEase and Marvel Games are rolling out a hefty mid-season patch for Marvel Rivals on October 10, giving the comic-book shooter its first new hero since Season 4 began. The update, dubbed “Heart of the Dragon,” headlines with the arrival of Daredevil and lays the groundwork for long-promised cross-platform progression.

Marvel Rivals launched earlier this year as a 6-v-6 hero shooter in the vein of Overwatch, letting players mix and match Marvel icons across destructible maps. Since release the studio has steadily expanded the roster while experimenting with “Team-Up Abilities” that fuse two characters’ powers. Season 4.5 keeps that cadence but also takes aim at long-requested quality-of-life features.

  • Daredevil arrives as a Duelist-class hero. His radar sense lets him mark a priority target, and his Ultimate unleashes The Beast, forcing nearby enemies into a fear state.
  • Disney+ perk costume. Subscribers can claim a limited-time Daredevil skin from October 10 to January 8.
  • Cross-platform progression (beta). A small test group will sync unlocks and cosmetics across PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Full rollout is planned for Season 5, though ranked ladders will stay platform-specific.
  • Team-Up Ability shake-up. Ragnarok Rebirth (Hela + Thor) is removed, Namor exits Gamma Charge, and two new pairings debut: Bestial Hunt (Daredevil + Punisher) and Deep Wrath (Hela + Namor).
  • Seasonal Halloween event. Expect themed cosmetics and challenges later in October.
  • New game mode teaser. Details are under wraps until the Thailand Game Show on October 17.

The addition of cross-save marks a notable milestone for Marvel Rivals. Few hero shooters manage true multi-platform progression at launch, and the feature has become a sticking point for players who split time between PC and console. By letting fans carry cosmetics and currency across systems, NetEase hopes to shore up retention ahead of Season 5.

NetEase says full patch notes and the first public cross-save test invitations will hit the official site closer to October 10.
