Borderlands 4 Is Asking Fans What Exactly They Want In Weekly Updates

While Borderlands 4 got a great reception at launch, performance issues were pretty rampant. It took Gearbox a while to fix them, but eventually, fans could enjoy everything Kairos had to offer. Unfortunately, long-time fans have been complaining that there isn’t enough endgame content to keep them going.

Players have complained that both the Horrors of Kairos Halloween event and the Bounty Packs are very shallow, not offering more than a few cosmetics, guns, and a tiny bit of story content. While weekly updates have kept the game going, there’s only that much you can farm a boss until you get all the weapons you want. With no major content drops in sight, Gearbox has decided to ask the community what it would like from weekly events.

Gearbox Wants You To Decide What Weekly Updates Will Look Like

“We’re hard at work on your 2026 content, including new Bounty Packs, your first Story Pack, and a Takedown,” said a tweet by the official Borderlands handle. “While we work on these longer-lead projects though, we want to know what weekly endgame activities you want to see more (or less!) of.”

This came along with a link to a survey that asked players to fill out what they’d like to see in upcoming weekly updates. It’s very basic information like favourite and least favourite bosses, weapons, and campaign missions. The second part of the survey asks players to rank their excitement for potential limited-time events and their rewards.

While this is a great way to tweak the weekly updates, the survey unfortunately doesn’t touch on the main issue fans have with the game – a sheer lack of new content. Gearbox has been pretty slow to add new content and DLCs for Borderlands 4, and that’s making it harder for even loyal fans to stick around.

With new story packs scheduled for 2026, Borderlands 4 may miss out on some major holiday traffic, with not much to do in the game. A lot of players now feel like the game could have used another year’s worth of dev time to improve overall performance and reduce the time gap between content drops.
