Best Tips To Save Ammo In Resident Evil Requiem

Best Tips To Save Ammo In Resident Evil Requiem

When you start Resident Evil Requiem playing as Grace, you’ll quickly learn just how limited resources are. It’s to be expected in survival horror, as this puts both the survival and horror aspects to the test. Surviving with few resources is part of what makes Grace’s sections so tense, but that doesn’t mean that you’ll have nothing at your disposal.

While ammo will definitely be limited, it’s not the only thing you can use as you search the house. You’ll gain access to objects you can craft to help you save ammo, and these options will save you from running out of ammo when you truly need it.

Stealth As Much As Possible

It may seem pretty obvious, but a large aspect of playing as Grace is to just stealth through each area. Take your time learning the patterns and directions of each infected in the area, and utilize that to your advantage to get around them.

In some sections, it’s as easy as running past the slower infected, while for others, you’ll need to time your movements based on theirs. At the very least, this will ensure you have enough ammo to deal with the larger and more deadly infected.

Here is where to find all Mr. Raccoon statues in Resident Evil: Requiem.

Prioritize Headshots

Instead of shooting wildly when attempting to destroy an infected, focus on their heads or legs. These pivotal points will help you down them and allow you to get some easy headshots while they’re on the ground, dealing more damage and taking them out quicker.

You’ll use less ammo with these specific landed shots, while also making the infected easier to defeat at the same time. There’s also a higher chance the infected will leave blood behind that you can collect if you hit these critical points.

Avoid Killing All Enemies

While it’s not obvious in the early game, avoiding killing everything is not only useful for saving ammo, it’ll be well worth it as you progress through the game if you need to backtrack.

This doesn’t necessarily mean stealth, as you can easily avoid several of the infected by simply running past them. Killing everything will be more of a waste of ammo in the end as the game progresses.

Keep Melee Weapons On Hand

Makeshift and hunting weapons are great because they have several uses. Not only can you use them to slash at enemies and conserve ammo, but if you’re attacked, you can embed them into your enemy to help you recalibrate before shooting them.

Aiding in keeping your ammo from being used, makeshift weapons not only help you deal melee attacks instead, but once their durability is dwindled down, they can be crafted into scrap you can then use to make more ammo.

Get More Guns

More gun options mean more ammo available to you. While you’ll have limited bag space, the more guns you have, the more ammo you’ve got on hand. If you run out of one, you’re sure to have ammo for another on hand.

While you start with the B934 and the easiest to find handgun ammo, you’ll eventually find the stronger S&S M232 that’ll deal more damage. You quickly get your hands on the Requiem, though you’ll only start with one bullet. Luckily, you will be able to craft more.

Upgrade Your Weapon Effectiveness

Another way to save ammo is to craft and use Stabilizers. These will increase your firepower and stability permanently, ideally dealing more damage and requiring less ammo to defeat enemies.

You’ll be able to find some as you play the game, but you eventually get the option to craft as well. Once used, it’ll make it slightly easier to take enemies, and with the increased stability, you’ll miss fewer shots and lose less ammo.

Don’t Waste Ammo On Larger Enemies

A big waste of ammo is just dumping bullets into the large stalking enemies you’ll find in the game. It’ll take far too much ammo to take them down at first, so you should avoid wasting a ton of ammo on trying to do so.

Your best course of action is to either use Hemolytic Injectors on them, run away from them, or use the powerful Requiem to take them out in one shot.

Have Enemies Attack Each Other

This one actually comes with an achievement/trophy if you can manage it. You won’t have to waste any of your precious resources depending on how you get this done, but you can have the infected attack each other.

One of the easier interactions to get done is to have the infected who don’t like sound triggered by the sound of you throwing an empty bottle at another infected. This will cause him to go after the target he assumes made the noise. There are several infected that can be coerced into damaging others this way.

Use Hemolytic Injectors

These injectors are quick lifesavers that’ll help you save ammo while quickly eliminating the infected in your way. One injection of this will blow the zombie to bits if it’s a regular zombie.

Stealthily walking around while injecting a zombie in the back with one of these is the best way to conserve ammo and quickly dispatch an enemy. Using these on larger enemies will help eliminate the need to dump ammo into them as well.

Destroy Several Enemies At Once With Requiem

The Requiem gun is powerful enough to blast through several enemies at once. A great way to save ammo is to use one bullet to take down several infected.

If you can line them up properly in a hallway or a doorway, it takes a single bullet to destroy several of them in one shot. This will save you the precious Requiem ammo and destroy even some of the more difficult infected that’d take too much handgun ammo.
