There are a ton of items you can scavenge for in Arc Raiders if you want to survive the dangers of topside. From weapons to shields to medications, you’ll need to stockpile a lot of items as you attempt to complete Arc Raiders’ more dangerous maps, quests, and events.
One material you will almost certainly ignore early on is Moss, which is solely used to craft Defibrillators. While this may not sound like a big deal, Defibrillators can make a huge difference in PvP fights and are especially useful on the newest map, Stella Montis. Here’s how you can get Moss and the best place to farm for it.
Where To Find Moss
Moss is classified as a Nature item, meaning it has a chance to spawn in any area marked with the leaf icon. That being said, the best place to actually farm for it is the Hydroponic Dome Complex in Dam Battlegrounds. Specifically, you will want to make your way into the large spherical dome structures and search inside them.
Focus your hunt on the large cylindrical shelves (shown above), as these usually contain 1–2 Moss. Now you will need to enter a small search animation when doing this, so make sure you’re safe before actually looting this item. Additionally, make sure to check any baskets or bins, as there’s a chance that Moss can also spawn in those.
The absolute best time to get Moss is when there is a Lush Bloom event on Dam Battlegrounds. This will pretty much guarantee at least one Moss per cylindrical container, making it the ideal time to farm. I also recommend hunting for this during the day, if only because you are way less likely to be jumped Solo when farming it and Moss isn’t typically an item players will prioritize getting in the first place.
That being said, I strongly recommend always snagging some Moss when you pass through — especially if you play with others. Defibrillators allow you to instantly revive a downed team and provide them with some health in the process. During hectic PvP battles, a well-timed defib could mean the difference between becoming past tense or walking out with the other person’s loot.
To actually craft your Defibrillator, you will need a single moss and nine Plastic Parts. This can only be created once you’ve upgraded your Medical Station to Level 2 and does not require a Blueprint. Moss cannot be bought, obtained from anything via Recycling, or crafted. If you want to make a Defibrillator, you’ll need to actually go out and scavenge for it!
