In Arc Raiders, there are a ton of materials you’ll need to scavenge to use when crafting guns, upgrading your work stations, and donating them to your Expedition. The latter is where things get shaken up a bit, as a few materials that you previously never had a use for will now be required to advance through the Expedition’s steps.
One of these is the Cooling Coil, which can be a bit of a headache to find despite the prevalent locations where it can spawn. Here’s what you need to know and where you should look to find the four Cooling Coils you’ll need.
Where To Find Cooling Coils
When it comes to finding Cooling Coils, you will want to hone your search on Industrial-type areas. These are designated on your map via the building icon over the name of the point of interest. However, not all Industrial Areas are created equal, so you’ll want to focus on looting the following areas:
- Rocket Assembly at Spaceport
- Hydroponic Dome Complex and Water Treatment Control at Dam Battlegrounds
- Warehouse Complex at The Blue Gate
Of these locations, the Hydroponic Dome Complex is surprisingly the best spot for consistently finding Cooling Coils. Specifically, you will want to look in the larger domed structures, as these have red lockers that you can loot. These lockers seem to have the best chance of spawning Cooling Coils so long as you’re in an Industrial area.
Alternatively, the breachable metal boxes have also yielded Cooling Coils. However, this is a bit more inconsistent than the lockers.
Sticking with Dam Battlegrounds, Water Treatment Control is another good spot to look for this item — especially if you have a Dam Surveillance Key. This is due to the locked room having an entire row of lockers along the left side of that room, which often contain at least one Cooling Coil. You can also find a nice mix of toolboxes, metal boxes, and shelves to loot in this location, making it a solid second option if the Hydroponic Dome Complex is already picked over.
When it comes to other maps, Rocket Assembly on Spaceport is my second go-to location when hunting Cooling Coils. This is mainly because this location has a collection of red lockers on both the first and second floors. These also often yield Cooling Coils, along with Epic-tier materials, making them a good spot to hit anytime you’re on this map.
Finally, Warehouse Complex on The Blue Gate map is a decent spot for finding Cooling Coils, but only if the row of lockers on the top floor hasn’t been hit. That being said, I wouldn’t use this as a dedicated spot for finding Cooling Coils as my testing was pretty inconsistent with their spawning.
Sadly, Cooling Coils cannot be bought, crafted, or obtained via recycling another material. This means if you want to get them for your Expedition, you’ll need to hunt Cooling Coils down the old-fashioned way.
