Baldur’s Gate 3 didn’t become the game that we know and love on the first go. Larian put it through an extensive early access period which moulded it into everybody’s favourite RPG. This process involved changing how characters looked, cutting tons of content, and adding in a lot more. However, only those who played it in early access know how much it changed since then.
Most players won’t know how different things were before the 1.0 launch. While there are some remnants that can be found in the final version of the game, most of this cut content will never be seen. That has now changed, thanks to a mod called ‘Early Access Scenes Restored‘, which reintroduces a lot of it back to the game.
You Can Now Experience Most Of Baldur’s Gate 3’s Cut Content
As spotted by Rock Paper Shotgun, the massive Baldur’s Gate 3 mod has been created by HyperspaceTowel, the same dev who worked on reviving one of Astarion’s cut scenes in camp. However, this mod features over 100 such scenes which didn’t make it into the final version of the game, for whatever reason.
“BG3 Early Access featured a ton of companion reactivity that didn’t make it into the full release game,” says the description. “Some of it was understandably cut, but a surprising amount still works well in the final game. This mod brings over 100 conversations and more than 1000 lines of voiced dialogue back from the dead—and counting.”
Baldur’s Gate 3 Isn’t Coming To Nintendo Switch 2, And No I Can’t Believe It Either
Larian has confirmed that bringing Baldur’s Gate 3 to Switch 2 is sadly out of its hands.
The modder explained that most of this content still fits into the game, but some of it required a bit of tweaking and even needed to be remade entirely. For instance, Lotan, a Tiefling child who asks if you have seashells to trade, was removed from the final version of Baldur’s Gate 3, but can be encountered again thanks to the mod.
There are a whole lot of such encounters, reactions, and conversations that the Early Access Scenes Restored mod reintroduces, perfect if you’re looking for some new content in your latest playthrough.
