Code Violet, the poor PS5 dinosaur shooter released last month, was a bad game.
That doesn’t mean it can’t get a sequel, though, as Teamkill Media has today announced Code UltraViolet. The follow-up is possible because of the “overwhelming success” Code Violet has apparently experienced, and “the incredible support from all of you”, the developer said in a social media post.
Code Violet has an overall critic score of 29 on Metacritic, a 2.6 user score on the same site, and a 2.88 player rating on the PS Store from confirmed buyers. Of almost 4,000 ratings, 36% of purchasers on PS5 left a one-star rating.
In our Code Violet PS5 review, we awarded the game a 4/10 rating, and called attention to its technical issues, poor gunplay, and samey locations. “Code Violet is a mess. Crummy combat, tedious exploration, technical problems. The sexy costumes and horny camerawork seem at odds with both Violet as a character and the tone of the writing.”
Despite the bad quality of the first game, will you give Code UltraViolet a chance? Let us know in the comments below.
