It’s officially 2026, depending on what region you’re in, which means there are a number of gaming-related anniversaries that will be celebrated across the year. Chief among them is the 30th anniversary of Persona, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in the big 2026.
Yes, that’s right. Persona is officially 30 years old, having released Revelations: Persona all the way back in 1996 for the original PlayStation console.

I Hope Persona 4 Revival Makes Me The Die-Hard Series Fan I’ve Always Wanted To Be
Everyday sure is great at your Junes, but will Persona 4 Revival finally be what makes me like more about P4 than just that jingle?
In celebration of the 30th anniversary, Atlus has officially launched a new website that features some exquisite art of the various protagonists that have headlined each title.
If you have a minute and are on a computer, I highly recommend going to the website, as its highly-stylized intro is peak Persona goodness. “Happy Persona 30th Year!” indeed.
What’s most interesting about this website is that it promises an update as soon as next week on January 8. Given that there are 365 days in the year and 53 weeks overall, it’s likely that there will be multiple updates, either on a weekly or monthly basis moving forward.
That said, each update won’t necessarily signal a new game, though wouldn’t that be pretty awesome? Rather, expect some nothingburger updates featuring merchandise or concerts between what many are hoping for is concrete details on Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6.
So What Can We Expect In 2026?
Beyond a leaked logo that has seemingly confirmed a green color scheme, there isn’t a ton of news on Persona 6, making a 30th anniversary celebration all the more reason to lift the lid. If that wasn’t enough, then earlier this week, studio director Kazuhisa Wada said in an interview that 2026 will provide opportunities to “talk about future developments for the series.”
Beyond Persona 6, it’s likely that we’ll hear more about Persona 4 Revival, the heavily-leaked, then officially confirmed remake of the original Persona 4. That game seemingly won’t launch until after April 1, if a slideshow presentation is to be believed.
Then, of course, there are the spin-off titles which the Persona franchise is guilty of dipping into more often than not. Specifically, there’s hope that Persona 5: The Phantom X, the mobile game that is also on Steam.
If Phantom X were to come to consoles, it’d definitely need some reworking, particularly in light of the fact that it was the “Most Retired,” or dropped game in 2025 by gamers logged into HowLongToBeat.
Ultimately, we’ll have to keep checking the 30th anniversary on each update date to see what’s what, but it seems that the franchise is primed for big things in 2026.
