Just one day after reports surfaced that the RTX 5070 TI and 5060 TI 16GB had been discontinued, ASUS is hitting back by stating the opposite. There’s just one problem: Just like the ongoing situation with RAM, you won’t find a 5070 TI or 5060 TI for cheap anytime soon.
In a statement released on Friday, ASUS clarified that “incomplete information from an ASUS PR representative regarding these products” had been passed along. Specifically, “the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB have not been discontinued or designated as end-of-life (EOL).”
ASUS has no plans to stop selling these models.
That said, as has been the case with other products that have either received price hikes or seen production fluctuate, ASUS is citing “memory supply constraints” as the chief reason why production has been impacted and stock at retailers has dipped. The company is working with its partners to “stabilize” supply, provided conditions improve.

If The Steam Machine Isn’t Priced Like A Console, It Isn’t Going To Sell Like One
The success of Valve’s Steam Machine in the console market all depends on the price.
“As a result, availability may appear limited in certain markets, but this should not be interpreted as a production halt or product retirement,” the statement read in part.
As of this writing, prices on RTX 5070 TIs continue to be inflated. Based on listings from Newegg, you’re either better off getting a pre-built PC or waiting until things stabilize, which, given where the market is currently at, may or may not happen.
Things Are Still Dire, Even If ASUS Says Otherwise
As Engadged previously reported, much of this consternation surrounding the RTX 5070 and 5060 TIs stemmed from a report from Hardware Unlocked, wherein the channel stated it was “explicitly” told by an ASUS person that the GPUs were in the midst of a supply crunch with plans to place it in “end-of-life” status.
That isn’t to say the 5070 as a whole was discontinued, but rather ASUS’ own products. The channel even went as far as to connect with retailers who reported similar difficulties in sourcing specific SKUs.
In an updated comment pinned to the YouTube video above, Hardware Unlocked noted that a timeline that began with them attempting to secure a sample and ends with the GPUs not being discontinued but also impossible to find at a retail level and also for coverage.
“At this point, the proof will be in the supply, as we can’t tell you which of ASUS’ statements is truly accurate,” Hardware Unlocked wrote. “We believe the RTX 5070 Ti is heavily supply constrained to the point of being effectively killed, but we’ll see whether that’s truly the case across the next few months.”
Whatever the case may be, it is the latest issue that non-AI-seeking consumers will have to contend with as everything from RAM, to GPUs down to even storage like Micro SD cards is being impacted in massive ways.
