The latest patch for Arc Raiders has finally provided a “hot fix” for the infamous door exploit that’s been ruining the game for weeks – and by hot fix, I really mean hot fix.
Although Arc Raiders is generally considered to be one of the biggest surprises of 2025 and the year’s standout multiplayer game, that’s not to say that it hasn’t seen its fair share of issues. Perhaps the most infamous problem that the game has been facing since its launch is the closed-door exploit.
For those who don’t know, Arc Raiders has lootable key cards that give you access to specific doors around the map, which often contain some of the best loot. You usually have to work hard to get into these locked doors, but players quickly figured out a glitch that lets you ram your way in without any difficulty (or keycards), leading to lots of unfair matches.
Embark Studios Has Fixed Arc Raiders’ Closed Door Exploit In The Best Possible Way
That’ll Make You Think Twice About Cheating
Arc Raiders players have been begging Embark Studios to fix the locked door exploit for a few weeks now, and it’s finally done it in the game’s latest patch, Update 1.4.0, which just went live. The patch notes for the update say that the team has made a “very hot fix” to the locked door exploit, and that should be taken very literally.

Arc Raiders Should Have Been At Least Nominated For This GOTY Category
Arc Raiders Sound Design is fantastic, and it’s a real shame it didn’t get a nod at this years Game Awards.
As highlighted by Redditor PromotionBubbly on the Arc Raiders subreddit, players who now try and bump and glitch their way into locked doors will find a very fiery surprise waiting for them, as the room will suddenly set off a bunch of fire traps and completely roast the player. Now that’s a hot fix.
Considering how big an issue the locked door exploit has been over the past few weeks, it’s arguably the best thing that Embark could have done for Arc Raiders, as it not only shows the game’s trademark sense of humour, but also patches out a truly annoying bug. Hats off to the developers, that’s how you win a flame war.

It pains me to betray my mechanical brethren, but Fatshark may be onto something with the latest Darktide class.
