Arc Raiders Blueprints Are About To Become Harder To Find

Those of you who’ve signed up for Arc Raiders’ second expedition are probably already out there restocking your loot. The game’s optional progression rest system sees you trade all your loot and coins for a fresh start and a handful of skill points. However, today’s update is going to make it harder to build up your armory.

Embark just dropped update 1.18.0 for Arc Raiders, and it brings a few changes to drop rates, primarily for rare blueprints and rare materials. While even rare blueprints were a dime a dozen during the last expedition, the developers have lowered the drop rates for them, making them harder to come across. That means no more Anvil blueprints in trash cans.

Arc Raiders Update Makes Blueprints Harder To Come Across

“Lowered the drop rate of rare blueprints slightly and raised the drop rate for high tier materials in First Wave Caches on the Hurricane map condition,” says the patch notes. While this won’t affect those playing on other map conditions, you’ll have the hunt for blueprints a bit harder if you want to play on Arc Raiders’ newest map condition.

The devs offered a reasoning behind this move. It seems First Wave Caches have been handing out a lot of Blueprints, making the re-grind much easier for those that signed up for the second expedition. However, the devs have offered something in return. “To help balance that out, we’re bumping up the drop rates for higher-tier materials inside the caches. So while you might see a few fewer blueprints overall, you’ll be getting better materials in return.”

That’s not to say that there won’t be any blueprints in the First Wave Caches. You just won’t be walking away with a handful of them in one sitting. To be fair, finding blueprints in Arc Raiders had become a bit too easy, with players finding three or four in one session. Now finding a blueprint will actually feel like finding a rare object.

Elsewhere in the patch notes, an issue with players being able to add weapons and Snap Hooks to their safe pocket has been fixed, along with fixes to Dam Controlled Access Zone, performance, quest and crashing issues.
